Monday evening was our train from Delhi to Bhopal. We managed to get AC first class which has 4 extra large seats and a sliding door which locks.(*wink wink*) The kids all fell asleep and didnt get up till the next morning.
We reached inlaws and am currently trying to be a good bahu(dil). Touching feet, trying not to have a sarcastic smartass answer for the stupidest things relatives say. And I tell myself its only for 20 days and I should make my inlaws happy. Well its Day 3 and I am already getting tired of it. We’ll see how long the good dil routine lasts. The thing that amuses me the most, is that when outside my mil introduces me as her dil and people look up and down. Thinking this is your bahu? I do not wear sindoor or bangles or toe rings. And I dont even have salwaars and sarees. After 10 years of marriage, my inlaws have given up hope that I will wear this things on a daily basis(I do when I attend a marriage though)
So yesterday(July 4th), the girls, my mil, sil and I went shopping. Mil and Sil disappeared somewhere. The girls and I then bought ice cream and were enjoying it.
A female beggar with a little kid comes.
She says : Didi acha dulhe milga(you will find a nice groom)
Me:Meri shaadi hogaye, yeh mera bache hai(I am married, these are my girls)
She: Toh bhagwan lerka dega(Then God will give you a son next)
Me:Nahi Nahi mujhe nahi chahiye. Mera 2 lerka ghar per hai(NO NO I dont want!I have 2 boys at home)
She was at a loss for words. She didnt know what to say next. I thought it was the funniest thing I heard in a long time. Anyway I gave her a some candy for her kid and change.

Haha!! That was a good one.
And trust me its really tough trying to be Ms goody two shoes and not being able to be yourself with your ILs around.
Anyways..all the best for the remaining days and have fun!
this is really funny! Thanks for sharing.
I hope you will enjoy the rest of the days you have in India.
