The fact I am turning 28 for the third time this November, I have become very interested in any product that proclaims ANTI AGING. I seem to find them everywhere from the grocery store to the damm gym.
But the thing is, I am all confused. Why is there a night and day anti aging cream? Why is the night one more fucking expensive than the day one? Was it the other way round? Nope I bought the day one so it must be the cheaper one. And what happens if I just put the day one on at night?
Then its not enough you have eye treatments and hand treatments and even *GASP* elbow gels that all promise you will look 5-10 years younger if you spend money. Then I read the disclaimer, use of this product doesnt guarantee anything. If you get an outbreak, its your fucking fault. This disclaimer was on a $120 10 oz face lotion crap.
Thoroughly pissed off, I bought a $15 Neutrogena SPF 70 Sunblock lotion for my face and a $35 some Dead Sea Mineral Salt DAY cream(which I use at night). My 3rd sister bought some SK II under eye lotion which has gold flakes in them at $55 for a small bottle. The whole lotion-creams industry is a huge scam to get women to pay money for nothing. If it doesnt work, then what does one do? Buy another bottle in hopes of working, buy an even more expensive one in hopes that THIS IS THE ONE. Do they really work? Who the fuck knows?

I think the answer is to not buy it. I was recently talking to my doctor about my acne problem, its caused by horemone issues, and asked what she thought would be great to help clear it up. She said nothing. To wash my face with warm water a couple times a day if I want. If I really need anything use a very light fragrance free non-antibiotic soap. And she has the clearest skin I’ve ever seen. I know its different than anti-aging creams and what not, but she’s also in her 30′s and looks maybe 27.
Hmm, I wash my face with a cleanser twice day.
Make-up, anti-aging, lotions and all of that are all geared to make people feel as if they need them to look prettier or younger. They promote low self esteem I think. And none of it works because if it did they’d be out of business.
I agree Crissa, they are all part of a huge money making scam.
You are such a baby in front of me! I hope that makes you happy enough that you are younger!
LOL, Thanks NM
Am in no position to talk about ageing or whatnot… but hey – 30 is the new teenage!
I am going with that, since Kiran said 50 is the new 30
That, and I’ll put in my two bits in favour of natural products
A scrub with semolina, whole wheat flour(atta) and yoghurt – just grainy enough to feel the semolina – works well for a combination skin on the face. Twice a week.
Apparently water in which eggshells have been soaked is a good skin toner.
There’s LOADS of stuff, ~nm knows a fair bit and the Net is an inexhaustible source of information.
Er… sorry if i sound weird, i’m terribly sleepy but just HAD to comment.
Ohh I didnt know abt semolina..I have heard about Besan and stuff. Good to know, since those are things I always have on hand
Dont say they dont work, I m over 30 & I am so hoping they do work.

You are saying that you need anti-age creams at 28 to spite over-30s like myself
.
But if you ask me, save your money. Everyone I’ve met told me that I’ve good skin. What’s your secret, BL?
Don’t clean it too much.
I wash my face only when I shower (i.e. maximum once a day haha) and I usually use a light facial scrub and then just rinse it off. No soap. Then I moisturise the skin with a water-base cream.
Reasonably-prized stuff from Nivea, for example, that one could get from Watsons.
Have never spent more than 10 bucks on any cream – except Haagen Daz.
Me:I was 28 3 years ago BL
I am going to stick to that as well. No more wasting my money on expensive crap
