Siblings

DG wrote about her brand new baby girl and son. How her baby is already sorting out her brother from the rest of the adults. That post reminded me of all the times of how my kids interact with each other. How my older son protects his baby brother and yells at his friends if they stomp on his brother’s sand creations at the playground. How Ashwina will tell the girl who cut in front of Avasha, that Avasha was next in line and not her. How Samar runs to Ashwina when he sees a big dog coming up to him. How Samar mopes around the house on Tues/Thurs when Neil in preschool. Finally how he runs and hugs Neil when we go and pick him up from school.  But this post is NOT about them. This post is about my sisters. My 3 younger sisters.

Sonia who is the closest to me in age. We were always close, we shared a room growing up. She took the top bed and I took the trundle(right Mei?). We could talk about anything and anyone. When she got married, I was so happy. In fact, she met her dh because of me and that  is a story in itself. When we were counting the right ovulation time for her to get pregnant, that Sept day she called and I knew when that she was pregnant.  We were close and now closer because we are both mothers. She has a different parenting style than I have but yet we don’t have any arguments. She can tell me to fuck off and I will tell her to shut up. And neither of us will mind the language we use.

Renu, my 2nd sis, the one I fight with the most. The one who pretends to have a hard exterior but is actually a softie inside.  We both have had alot of arguments and my mom thinks it because we are both so strong headed. We both share a love of reading and watching  the same sitcoms on TV. The one with the head full of the curliest hair and the fairest skin of all of us. She cannot stand any one talking bad about her nieces and nephews and will tell the person to her/his face.

Isha, who you guys know very well through her comments. She who people said will amount to nothing because she failed a  important exam in school. But she proved everyone wrong. Today, she is working in a big company, in a technical position. She was always good with her hands. Whenever something electrical breaks down in our house, she would be called upon. If someone’s computer is infected with a virus, she is there with her handy-dandy toolbox. I am so impressed with her writing. Her comments are so well-thought out..Isha, my youngest sister..the one who proved everybody wrong.

Some one told me, that its good we sisters are so admiring of each other. Of course, we are all supportive of each other. Thats what sisters are for.

Someone else wrote that even a criminal relative supports them in their wrong doing(in context of Isha getting all worked over the potty mouth post), I say I am lucky to have not 1, not 2, but 3 wonderful, caring sisters. We all chat every day on MSN, we call each other once a week and yet we hardly fight.

PS:This is a long rambling post. I am too lazy to read through for spelling or grammar errors. Ignore them

Its so wonderful that your kids share an equally special bond as well.
    Beautiful beautiful family.

Awww lovely post!! Sisters rule!! This is a poem I had found on net.

A sister is one of the nicest things
    that can happen to anyone.
She is someone to laugh with and share with,
to work with and join in the fun.
She is someone who helps in the rough times
and knows when you need a warm smile.
She is someone who will quietly listen
when you just want to talk for awhile.
A sister is dear to you always,
for she is someone who is always a part
    of all the favorite memories
that you keep very close to your heart

I too have a sister. Check out my post

hello! i just read your link to the old post on cussing. and SPOT on about my mum and swearing when she tries to switch lanes. still does it. now she and i fluently swear at each other in the WORST possible manner… also i think all the siblings within the clan are pretty tight eh? i like my sister to a reasonable amount lol. we were all brought up right :)

Me:Almost everyone in the “family” is close, I think.. Some superficially, some not so…
