Shilpa wrote about the many moves she has made. Preethi left a link to the post she wrote about the numerous moves she has done, which brings me to my announcement. We are moving..The family and I are moving to *drum roll* Bay area.
Beautiful weather, wonderful beaches ,and of course crazy real estate prices are all what make North California a unique place. I was excited when NK got this job offer. I wouldn’t have to force 4 kids into gloves, hats, snow shoes. Do you know how long it took us to get ready in winter? About 1/2 hour before we could run out to the van after which the kids all proceeded to take out each warm article of clothing, claiming they were burning up in the van. And did I mention the dryness here, no matter how much lotion one applies, one skin is always dry, moreso for Samar who has eczema. I am hoping his skin will improve in SFO.
I have to say I am going to shed a few tears. Boulder is a unique place. The people, the energy is very different from any place I have lived in. Not to mention, the scenic beauty of the Flatirons.. I will miss seeing the cow farms and the horse barns. The endless stretches of corn fields… *sob sob* We told the girls last week. I was abit worried as to how they will take the news.
Ashwina:Oh cool SFo has alot of tourist places.
Me:Like What
Ashwina:Like Fisherman’s Wharf and a really cool aquarium.
Me;How do you know?
Ashwina; My friend Olivia went there last year and told me
Avasha:Does it snow there?
Me:No
Avasha:So I can wear my crocs to school everyday.
Me:I guess so..
Avasha:Woohoo
Me:Will you be sad?
Both girls:Why for what?
Me:Your friends, your school?
Both girls:Nope, we can always make new friends. Its fun to try new places and schools.
Obviously both girls have inherited my nomadic sense of adventure.
Nk left today. The kids and I dropped him at the airport this afternoon. He will come back last week of Oct and then we all would drive to CA. I know we are crazy kind of family. Neil was abit upset when I was trying to put him to bed. He misses his daddy so much(his words)

Good luck with the move! I hope you stay on the comoms site
Me:I’m sure I will Anna
Good luck!!
Me:Luck and lots of alcohol will be involved
See why I said you win this? Moving with a kid/kids is an ordeal. Thanks for the award! My first award!
Me:We are both crazy! I actually think its slightly easier to make friends when you have kids. I always join the local moms club and BAM I have 20 different people I can ask help from
Wow,thats a lot of moving so well deserved award there!
Good luck!!
Me:See above about requiring alcohol and luck ..You haven’t updated for a while now. Still busy with the Wii?
Wow, you HAVE moved around a lot! And moving is increasingly difficult with kids.
Good luck with the move! Hope everything goes well.
Me:Thanks. Here’s hoping that everything goes smoothly..
Well no awards for me since we have not (yet) moved after we had the child. But I wanted to say that yes, Boulder is a damn cool place! Despite the snow… Too bad you are leaving it. However, SFO is not half bad, eh, what with the aquarium and the good chance that you will see ‘Silver Man’ (and all that sun)! Kids always know best. & crocs rock (sort of). Good luck with everything!
Me:Are you back home or NY? I was confused with your last post? And I should do a post about our obession with crocs. It’s a local company and the warehouse is 2 miles from my house. Last Friday, they had a clearance sort of sale, adult sizes for $10–kid sizes for $5..umm yeah I went slightly crazy.
You surely take the top spot.. you have moved with more number of kids.. and across countries.. wow!! By the way we seem to be doing this in reverse.. you were in Charlotte, then Boulder and now moving to California. I have lived in CA in the past (Fremont – Bay Area), moved from there to Denver, Co and now am in NC!! So see, similarity there too…
Too bad you are moving out of Boulder.. but CA is good fun too.. good luck with the move and thanks for the award
Me:I think the world is becoming smaller and smaller. The lines are all become blurry.
my mother says “way to go, man. you can do anything in the wooooorld because youre my niece.” why she couldnt type it herself is beyond me. neanderthal, im telling you. x
Me:She is so funny.. She has to come and visit me in SFO..Of course you are welcome to tag along.
oh i so feel your pain. and I will beat your record. just you wait!
Me:)
your kids have the right attitude. They will make new friends and it will be an exciting adventure. Boulder is so unique and wonderful in ways but I imagine living in SFO will be amazing and fun.
I do not miss the colorado snow, no freakin way!! driving on ice, scraping said ice off the windshield, bundeling the kids up, freezing my ass off… ugh nope, don’t miss it a bit.
Me:Oh the no more waiting for the car to warm up. No more putting on FOUR pairs of gloves, hats, jackets and snow boots…
omg!!! Hve a fabulous move! maybe i can meet u there when i get there eventually.
im so happy for ya. it’d hve been nicer if u came to houston but ah, bay area would do. Sooo happy for u! !!
Me:TX would have been so much cheaper though. You have to let me know when you visit here. Hey you have moved many times as well, right? Write a post on your moves and you’ll win my brand new spanking award. LOL
hi first time here, came over from kenny’s.
i have travelled a bit too, first with one and afterwards two kids. almost always alone.
but you totally take the cake, i mean, the award! whoa!

Me:Welcome..Alot of crazy stuff in the archives. Be careful…
Wow. you’ve done a fair bit of moving! If ever I move from singapore to the US- You know who I’ll be contacting for tips!
Me:
Are you training for the Standard Char Marathon? My cousin is planning on doing it as well
WOW!!!!
You totally deserve the award!!!
Congrats on the new job and the great coming move!!! Bay area – double wow!
Meanwhile, have I moved? Do ducks fly?
Excluding the month-long or week-long trips I’ve made here and there, my major moves were :

1995-2000 : 4 Moves within Paris
2000 : Paris – Rochester, NY
2001 : Rochester, NY – Paris
2001 : Paris – Jaén (Spain)
2002 : Jaén – Paris
2002-2004 : 4 moves within Paris
2005 : Paris – Stuttgart
2007 : Stuttgart – Modena
Me: You are awarded as well..How come you move back forth Jaen-Paris, NY-Paris? And you should put in the () the no of kids that made the move with you:)
Hate to be the one to break it to you but… Bay area can be bloody cold….most of the year
Me:Sticking fingers in ear..La La la la Can’t hear you. I can take cold BUT NOT SNOW
Why Paris?
Because Paris used to be home-base.
But now, Hub doesn’t work for a French MNC any more so no more Paris usually for us.
Paris- Rochester all the way till Jaén-Paris (1)
After that (3).
Wowww I totally missed this post..coz u see,I was moving then!LOL!!We were in transit!
