Since I am on a roll
We were listening to Khuda Khair and this was the lyrics
Wo jab nakhoon kutarti hai
To chanda ghatne lagta hai
Wo paani par kadam rakhe
Sagar bhi hat jata hai
Me: What Kutarti hai means?
NK: Like biting, like a mouse will bite the food
Me: So what else can one kutarte.
NK: Its like nibbling.
Me:Can I then kutarte your ear, since its nibbling
NK: No you cannot, its not used that way. Argggh dont kutarte my ears Stop it.

This is favourite thing of mine, to listen to songs, pick out a random word and demand an explanation complete with examples of said word used in 3 different sentences
LOL @ dont kutarte my ears !!!!!!
yup..they should come up with a disclaimer…kutarte of ear leads to baby 5.
Me: throws a spell back at Aneela saying she would have Irish twins.
From which movie is this song? Hey watch DEVD pretty cool movie and songs too…
Hehehe.
That’s’ really cute!!!
Sonia is from Billu Barber i think.
U shld listen to
nashta taiyar hai sir. aur kuch chahiye? bole to main..
Me: Where is that song from? Mei, its from Billu barber. havent watched the movie thoug.
hahahha
I am sorry to put it this way, but do you know there is something called verb-forms? And something called grammar? So kutarte / kutarti are no words, but forms of kutarna, and you use it in different ways…So you dont kutarte someone’s ears, you can ‘kutar’ them…It didn’t sound funny to me the way you used it, but rather irritating improper uses (of simple words)…
Anyway….
Me:Kutarte/kutartne isnt simple to me. If it was, I would have known the meaning right? I didnt grow up speaking Hindi. Just from yesterday, these were mistakes my dh pointed. Gussa ata hai..not ati hai. Aloo acha bana(I used achi..i think) Dhoop lagta hai(not lagti hai)
LOL!! You ARE funny!
‘Clever’ use of the word in sentences…hehehe
BTW, admire the way you handle rude comments here. People can make their point even without sounding so unpleasant, na?
Me: I was trying to be all Zen like. Woh Bob Dylan na kaha hai na, You can kill someone with kindness. Am trying that out for a bit.
Well..I am none to point out, but could not resist saying that bit for you
I didn’t understand the language… But that tradition of picking random words from songs is cute.
Me: It is a good way to pick up new words. I then try to show my newly accquired vocab to people. Sometimes it backfires though.
Wow, it’s been ages since I saw/heard/read that word. My Hindi is severely challenged, though most people will say I do very well for a Bong
And “don’t kutarte my ears”? LOL
u know ia ctually laughed really hard visualizing you ‘kutaring’ NK’s ear!!!!!!!!! hahaha
