Its been more than a month since my last update( is time flying for anyone else or is it just me).
My trainer last week had me do supersets. I never even heard of that term, let alone try doing. Supersets are basically doing 2 sets of exercises in a row with no rest in between. You can chose to exercises the same muscle or do different muscles. The reasoning behind supersets are many.(Google is your friend. Am too lazy too). This is what I did
12 reps of 12.5 lb bicep curl- switch to 10 lbs and do hammer curls rest 1 min(she times me) and repeat x 3.
12 rep squats with shoulder press 15 bs switch to 12.5 and do single leg lunges rest 1 min and then do repeat x4
45 lbs 12 rep 3 sets of chest bench presses
40 lbs 12 rep 3 sets incline bench press
Triceps extension 60 lbs on the pulley machine, switch the arms to the outside of the rope, drop to 50 and do another 12. Repeat x 3
Lie down on Bosu ball, crunch lft hand to right knee, 12 times, switch legs another 12 times and then do straight up 12 crunches. x3.
I was exhausted. It was painful to even drive home after working out. My arms the next day werent so bad, but the little muscle right under the armpit hurt alot.
My week look(s )like that:

Sun -Off
Without further ado, here my current pictures. When I showed the pictures below to my kids, Neil asked is there 10 differences and do we get a prize. I dont see much difference between the May and June wala pictures. ( Oh I just noticed a typo in the middle set. Its April 15th ,not 30th in the middle set) When I see pictures of myself, I go, arggh look at my belly. Arggh look at the double chin. And not to mention my flabby flabby arms.. I dont see a slimmer *cough* size 8-10 *cough* Sraikh. I still see the size 18 person I was. And I am not that person anymore. I run, I lift weights, I spin. All things which I couldnt do before. I need to change my mental image.

My sisters are going to say I have too much time and that I am obsessed and also that I have become extremely vain. But thats what sisters do?

Yes, sisters should say stuff like that to each other. =)
I think you are doing a fantastic job and you look awesome! Keep it up! You’ve totally inspired me to start, I just signed up for a running class too!
Me: YAY! I might sign up for it. Might!
Awesome job woman. My first time here. I think you look amazing and a gorgeous mum of 4!!! Are you training for something or is it just general fitness?
Me: Waves hello. I eventually want to run longer distances. A 1/2 marathon later this year although I am stil doubtful. And in general, kickass body
I do see a flatter tummy, and a more glowing skin. Why do you feel there is no difference. The measurements have changed isn’t it? And i don’t believe you are size 18… no way! Or are you like really really tall?
Me: GM, I was a size 18 until last year. I am size 10, sometimes a size 8 now. What I meant to say was that my mental image of self is still much bigger than what I actually am. does that make sense? Like when I go shopping, I always pick up the bigger size because in my head, no way a smaller size would fit me.
I dont know about you…but I see no double chin, smaller face and abs, and a definite/defined waistline.
yay you
Me: You are looking into the magic mirror. Mine shows all the flaws.
Cheers to you for being at it woman! I see clear difference between the first and last pictures. You look more toned and more importantly you are able to do a lot more compared to earlier. If you with your super tight schedule can find time to do this, I have no excuse really.
Me: Thanks what do I call? BAM/BM/ B
… rofl
How’s the working out coming along?
Yes you sure do have lots of time.
Deh, your tummy is the most visible. It really has shrank a lot..Reading your workout got my head spinning…YOU are really working out a lot! Things that u have never done in your life.. Send some energy to your little sisters…motivate them too!
Me: Especially the running deh, Can you imagine me a runner? I hope they read this loh.
You do see that your double chin has gone down from April to now right? Also, your arms seem more toned now. And your abdomen region too.
Overall, even if you don’t see a BIG difference in your size/weight etc, I am sure you know how great you feel when you see that you have run 4 miles without taking a break!
I am going to try supersets…any suggestions?
Me: My arms I know for sure have lost their jiggle jaggle. I started wearing sleeveless after 10 years of NOT wearing them. My tummy too..but I am still looking at my flabby underarms or the side love handles and wondering when it will be gone, if it will be gone. I swear weightloss is a huge mental game as well. Ohhh Supersets, you try the one I posted above? Just use lower or heavier weights whichever you are used to?
Hmm..I actually think you look slimmest in the May photos, except for the lower stomach – that looks flattest in the June pictures, but IME, but that could be the result of the weight training. A female friend who is very into weight training tells me that her size for tops went up, as her arms and upper body gained definition. She also says her bustsize went up – not cup size, just all around bust size. So don’t focus on the size aspect – it’s great that you’re aiming for a marathon!
M (to whom the very idea of running/walking for 26 miles is complete anathema!)
Me: Ha! A half marathon.. 13.1 miles not the full. That is downright scary. It will take me abt 5 hours to complete. Can you imagine non stop walking/running for 5-6 hours EEEK. Hmm abt my sizes, the measurements my trainer does shows everything went down except for my calves which went up.
Wow ! you went from a size 18 to a size 8?! how cool is that
i agree with the others, you are looking really toned and that workout you write about is going to work its magic and make you incredibly fit and toned.
lets go, burn some fat!
Me: YAY!! Here’s to blasting fat.
I know what u mean about the mental image. I still look for XL clothes instinctively. I can be forgiven though because I have not gone down as much. Whats your excuse? There is no hint of a ‘former-size-18′ in any of your pictures. If it was like a million years ago then time to get over it. Also please dont imagine that non-existent double chin. Its not a magic mirror, you probably need glasses. You look fab. Believe it!
Me: It was 2 years ago.
Thanks A
i think you have toned up. you have inspired me and i joined the gym and have already lost 4 pounds!..
take care
Anju
Me:YAY!! I am so happy. I received quite a few emails from people abt weightloss/gym and thrilled people are working out. Clinks glasses to 4 lbs lost.
Girl, this is awesome! I mean the changes are SO visible – tummy flattening and other assets movin’ upward if you get the drift;-)
This rocks! You are such a motivation.
Me: You and your obession with err my rack(s) Thanks!
wow a size 10 or 8. Are these American sizes or the UK ones? How did you do that? Halve your size. I am super impressed. And I missed this out earlier, may I say, you look very very pretty. I do understand the mind set bit too. I do get it, but trust me that will change now as you hold on to your smaller size. Proud of you, and trust me I know exactly what you have been through, just hope to get where you are sometime.
Me: American sizes. which technically isnt all that true as well. Each designer has his own sizing chart. Sometimes even a 12 is tight and sometimes 8 is loose. All crazy. I have been working out for past 2 years. My weight loss has been over this time and only recently I have been happy with the way I look. Let me tell you 3 back to back pregnancies does a number on your body and self esteem.
Great thanks. I will try them.
You are right that weightloss is a mental game. Hell one day I feel super and one day i feel like a fat whale…..and my weight hasnt changed all that much in the last few years!
Me:Let me know how it goes
