My 2nd child is turning 7. How is that possible. How can my kids be growing up so fast and not need me as much. How is that even possible?
Avasha is the one who challenges me the most. She questions each and everything I ask her to do.She knows how to push all my buttons. Asking her to put away her own laundry is a huge battle. She will throw her crocs and then not pick them up until I threatened to cut off her comp time. She is also the one who says YOU ARE NOT THE BOSS OF ME. I shout back, YES I AM.
But she is also the sweetest out of the lot. She will give her up her candy if her brothers are crying. She will come massage my head when I have a headache. She has been pounding the ginger for my afternoon chai every single day this summer. She sits down and conducts lessons for the younger kids. She has a small clipboard and a whiteboard. She would make them say their colors, list the alphabet, and just recently started teaching Neil rhyming words.
I know I am hard on her and I shouldnt compare her to Ashwina. I hated it when my mom use to do and yet sometimes I find myself saying it. She isnt that much into reading as Ashwina is. She will read 4 pages and then ask, is this enough. She is much more physical. She has been practicing hard on jump rope right. She wants to do forward/backward and cross rope. She loves to kick a soccer ball around and is very competitive abt winning. She learnt the monkey bars much earlier than Ashwina did.
She also has an excellent singing voice.Ashwina and I are both tone deaf. We cannot carry a tune. She on the other hand, has a decent singing voice and is always humming and singing something.
I can go on and on abt her but I will stop. She is just like her name, Avasha which means independent.

It must be so hard to not compare them for you though! Must be so tough! Close to each other and its bound to happen. Wonder woman, I wonder how you manage them all and you are so young yourself!
Me:It is hard but I try not to say it out loud even if I am thinking it. LOL at wonderwoman. My sisters have been calling the commenters here and on FB, my fan base
She sounds so gorgeous though
. Can you drop me an email? I’ve left my address in your comment on my page.
Me: Sending you one right now.
Happy Birthday Avasha !
Happy Birthday, Avasha! Loved what your mom wrote about you. esp. this part “She will come massage my head when I have a headache. She has been pounding the ginger for my afternoon chai every single day this summer.”
So caring! Beautiful child.
Happy birthday , Avasha!
i think comparing becomes natural when you have two or more of the same kind (like all girls or boys) even if you didn’t the others (relatives, friends) are going to.
my two boys are quite different from each other, sometimes i wonder did they come from the same parents?!
Me:
I’m sure everyone compares. And the relatives are the worst!
Avasha, happy birthday!

Each kid have different strengths..I think u of all people shld noe that.

Happy birthday Avasha. Wonderful to hear about her. Normally the middle ones are less talked about. The eldest and youngest get the best. But i have to take back my words here. Wish you many more wonderful bdays to come.
Happy 7th to Avasha. I love her name. And you little girls are both so sweet and nice. You are doing a great job S!
Happy Birthday Avasha!
Firstly, a very happy birthday to Avasha. Thanks for explaining her name. Its beautiful, just like her.
Are you saying its bad to compare kids? I am a single kid to my parents. Almost all of my extended family far far off has only single kids and my husband is a single child as well! I have 2 and I love comparing them. I love getting one to do stuff by giving example of the other. Isnt that the fun part of it?
I am so attracted to large families. More people, more birthdays, more fights, more celebrations, more heartaches. More life.
(Touchwood!)
Me: You know, I wouldnt have it any other way, now that I am used to chaos of 4. I mean, I get to put 4 birthday posts. Seriously who can do that!? Psss:are you going to have more?
Hello Avasha,
Happy birthday! I called you and am waiting for your call back. Wish her on my behalf. Love you…

Happy Birthday Avasha! I just love her name and its meaning. But then I love all your kids’ names. How did you think of such great names all four times??!
Me: I have such a common name and so I was adamant that my kids have highly unique names. So far, I havent come across another Ashwina, Avasha yet
a verrry happy birthday to Avasha!

Happy Birthday to the Spunky one. Avasha = chutzpah!
Just went through your older posts too…your strength training post made sense to me for the first time
if someone had just told me that testosterone bit earlier (even though I HAVE worked with a trainer!!) I would have attacked those wts with alittle more gusto. Thanks a million.
Me: YAY! As my trainer says, You gave birth to 2 kids(in your case) you can lift that sucker.
ur 3rd and 4th pregnancies post made me ROTF and laugh.
Me:
Happy Birthday to your little girl.
I like both girl’s name.
I have a very common old name so i named my daughters
Sarjona and Sathvika so far i haven’t come across anyone with that name
love your blog.
Me: Ohhh lovely names. I love unique names.
Happy Birthday to Avasha,
Loved the pictures, naughty smiles, twinkling eyes
And you…along with everything else you do, you also let the girls have long hair!
Me: You know we have had huge fights over their lenght. For some reason, they both are girly girls. They looove long hair and it was such a pain to maintain during the school year. I got Ashwina’s trimmed to just shoulder length and when it was Avasha’s turn, she started crying and so I couldnt do it. I gave Avasha a big brush as her birthday present and told her she has to brush it out every single day.
You never intend it, start out writing just like the rest of us and by the time I finish ur posts, I always want to bow down.
Yes I am right up in the front row in the fan base and may I suggest that you give the rest of the blog world coaching in how to get people to accept you as the queen subtly without claiming greatness. Its an art and you have mastered it.
Me: HA! Have 4 kids..maintain a blog. Lose some weight. There you go. I think I need to do a confessions of sorts and make people realise just how bad of a mom I can be
Hey, i couldn’t come online yesterday…
But my wishes are with the sweet girl who is all set for BIG things in life.. and would have fun too…
