He is going to owe me big

Looks bad
Looks bad

This happened this morning.I was sleeping on the bed. Nk was ironing on the bed. The HOT  iron was upright on my side of the bed. He shouted something at the kids and I straightened my legs and the damm iron fell on top of my foot. It hurts like a bitch.Nk got all freaked out and ran to get me a cold compress. I was angry, shouting how many  times have I told not to use the fucking iron on the bed. He mumbles something abt me sleeping in and its 8.30 and if I had woken up, I wouldnt have be burnt. Then he says do we need to go to a doctor. I told him no, you go to work before I scream more at you.

Kiran, the tag is the last thing on my mind. I want to kill him right now.

That really looks bad. Go have it looked at.

Hmm: I really dont want to drag 4 kids to a germy doc’s office.. I will just monitor it at home. I am more pissed abt not being able to wear my shoes and go to the gym today.

  2. Ouch!!! That sure looks painful.

Try applying honey on it. My granny taught that to me..and it gives some sorta relief.
Those nasty burns take their standard time to subside anyways.

Me: You know I just found abt honey from google. That and yogurt. I didnt put honey because imagine the sticky mess it would leave. I put yogurt and it felt cool.

  3. Tara says:

Oh.. so when this tragic stuff was happening at ur end, i was enjoying your archives… and loving it all.. your family with husband and with sisters.. you drives, your strong willed workouts, ur kids, crocs, the plants, date night :) everything.. n now its like i have been your neighbours for all these years having known you kinds…

Me: Alot of stuff in the archives. You know my whole life now.

    it looks painful..
do take care and get well soooon..

    Me:Thanks

  4. shilpadesh says:

Ooo that looks pretty bad. I remember my little finger got burnt and it hurt like hell, but this looks far worse. Take care.

    Me: thanks S

  5. Prashanti says:

That looks bad !!! Please apply an antiseptic like burnol or something too. I guess it will take a while for it to heal and dry. Take care and use the opportunity to make Nk do the cooking and cleaning :)

Me: Do they have burnol here? My mom when we were younger, used this yellow thick paste. I still remember the smell of it.I am pissed abt missing my workouts. I dont think I could wear shoes. And we are going camping this weekend, Argghh.
He is going to change diapers the whole time.

  6. Chumi says:

oh no.. that looks really bad… put on some medication before it boils n hurts even more. try aloe vera if u have any

Me: I dont have aloe. I do have the plant though and am going to try and get some sap out of it.

  7. sole says:

ouch…ouch..ouch…that should really hurt darl! Is he going to be at your feet and disposal for the next one week?

Me:HA! I did guilt him into meeting at the docs today at 5. Samar had an appt there.

Honey, yogurt any of that helps if applied immediately, otherwise burns just take their own sweet time to heal!

Take it easy and take care!

    Me: thanks Sole

  8. Ouch!! that looks terrible. it must be burning now…..ahhh i’m freaking out just looking at it. take care and I’m sure NK must be feeling very bad. Now I’m sure he won’t iron on the bed anymore.

Me: I just shouted this comment to him. He said Yes darling..:) Khabi nahi karoge

  9. Silvara says:

    Farrrk that looks painful.

    Hope it gets better soon…

  10. CA says:

Ouch … that looks pretty bad …

  11. Solilo says:

    Oh my dear! It looks so bad. What did you apply? Neosporin? Apply it with a cotton swab. Also pop some pain killers. It must hurt you, girl! {{{{Hugs}}}}

Me:Its honey in the 2nd picture. I just did Neosporin

If blister is filled with water/pus then call your Doctor for opinion.

Me: I hope not. We are suppose to go camping this weekend.

  12. That looks awful. Poor baby. Atleast its not your driving foot. Without a driving foot we would be totally handicapped!

Me: I know. It would have sucked

  13. suma says:

ouch..that is painful! put your feet up and rest.
if only you could do that. take care,

Me:Ha! I wish. I coulld only tolerate having the kids cooped up at home till 3 and then I dragged all of us to the park/library/ped for Samar. Luckily I can drive and it doesnt hurt.

  14. Kiran Manral says:

Ice it. Aloe vera gel works miracles. Slather it on. Will be gone in a day or two. And yes, totally owes you big time.

Me: Thanks Kiran. I will attempt that tag when the memory of this fades.

  15. Nitya says:

    Ouch. :-(
Aloe vera sap is good. Makes it heal faster.
Now see how many chores you can convince the kids into doing for themselves!

Me: Its hard to get the sap from the plant. I have a small one.Am going to try and guilt Nk into doing stuff.

  16. choxbox says:

    ouch.

think of it this way – sometimes God also needs a break. put your feet up, at least in the evening.

Me: You are inviting the trolls, you know that right? We are going camping on Friday. I still have to do packing and buy the groceries. Samar has a bad execma outbreak. Its horrible. I have to also give Neil’s forms to the ped for Kinder. I need to fill out(Nk is in charge now) Samar preschool forms for Friday morning. Tell me when can I rest? tell me..

  17. pujathakur says:

Ishhh that must be very painful…. and I hope the pain ends as soon as possible..

(Was about to tell you what choxbox said in the comment above – then read your reply to it.. Wish you could give yourself a break for some time and do rest…
hope it gets well soon, dear )

PS: I did stay home till 3 pm yesterday and I think its enough rest. Plus we are camping this weekend and so am hoping to lay low and make NK do everything.

  18. Sumana says:

Honey really does wonders. But be careful so that the blister does not open up. Take care

Me:It doesnt look as red this morning. But I will have a horrible scar for the rest of my life. :(

  19. ss says:

Take care. That looks like a nasty burn

  20. Abha says:

more than him leaving the iron on bed (which is something I would do at times! :( ), what would have done me in is the mubling about not sleeping in! :P

    get well soon girl!!

    hugs

Me: Right! I was pissed about that. He is making up for it though.Or least trying to.

  21. Subhashree says:

Ouch. That looks bad. I’d have reacted just like you and dumped all my chores on the husband. You are too sweet! Take care.

Me: I am evil .. Believe me. I am not nice. :)

  22. blinkandmiss says:

OMG must be burning like hell! Take care. Also this would be a good time to get NK to agree bringing you the morning adrak chai in bed for the rest of your life.

Me: hahaha He makes the morning chai since he gets up before me. Its normally strained and on the dining table by the time I am downstairs. :) It was burning but the yogurt and honey is helping but what a sticky mess. The honey dripped onto my Crocs as well

  23. Oh no …take care…

  24. shraddha says:

    that really looks very bad…

    get well soon..

  25. uh-oh …show a doctor..get well soon

  26. Anamika says:

Another picture that I cannot see but I am sure its hurting bad. Take care and hope it heals soon.

Me: Hmm see on FB? I dont know why you can view it. Weird. What do you use?

  27. V says:

Hell! That looks bad…hope u feel better soon!

    Me: Thanks V.

  28. Smitha says:

Ouch! That looks painful! Hope you get better soon! Honey is usually quite effective. Hope it works for you too.

Me:I hate the sticky mess but if it helps then I am throwing it on.

  29. Enchanted says:

You know this may sound weird, but i always apply salt on any burns (suggested by my mom) . It burns in the beginning but it works wonders later. The blister doesnt get filled with water at all if salt is applied immediately and it just dries out in few days. I use this for most of the kitchen burn and it doesnt even leave any marks.

Me:I put salt when I get mouth sores. So far, there is no water filled blister. I think it looks worse than I feel. or maybe I am supermom with super healing powers
Hope you feel better soon. Aloe vera as suggested by someone above will also help.

  30. M says:

    Echoing all the ouches etc.

Re: the scar – use Mederma – OTC at the drugstore…it’s expensive but works. It even cleared up an old (over 15 years old) silencer-burn mark on my ankle.

    M

Me: I tried Mederma once for another burn and it didnt really help. Or maybe I didnt do it long enough. Thanks M. Did you see Anamika’s question in one of the comments.

  31. tearsndreams says:

Hope you are feeling better now. If not, I will send you a pic of my third degree burn just below my elbow (so very visible) on the exact same spot where I had burned it last year while doing the exact same thing (pulling something from the oven and opening the door only half way because the thought that my daughter will come dashing for it and climb into it freaks me out. So I open the door at a 45 degree angle and get burned second time and there is a scar over the scar from last year and I have no one to blame).

Me:That sounds painful. Arghhh.. what did your mil say?

  32. Nids says:

Hey, this looks so painful….He definitely owes you a big one, and i am very proud of you, that you still went to the Gym with that Foot. Also good luck for camping sweetie. Take care of yourself.

  33. dipali says:

    Heal fast, foot!
    Poor you:(
And poor hubby, looks like he’ll be in the doghouse for a while!

  34. La Vida Loca says:

    A little late….but still a big hug

  35. Tara says:

n i loved that lady out there :) dont wear chappal for few days if possible..

  36. Solilo says:

Oh! camping. How are you feeling today? Better? How is the pain?

Me: I went to the gym today and did upper body workout. In the women’s locker room, one of my friends (whose name I dont know but we see each other 3x a morning because we both work out at the same time) took a look at it. She is a nurse. She said it wasnt infected and that to continue using yogurt and honey and to make sure not to go into creeks while camping. She also applied Neosporin and covered it with gauze that another mom had in her first aid kit. Nice right?

  37. Solilo says:

Good..good. Now enjoy your camping and keep Neosporin handy.

Since he owes you big time, he needs to pick you up everytime there is a creek. How about that?

    Me: rofl

  38. Anamika says:

Jale pe namak for real! Will need to remember this information.
