A Maybe Plan

I was telling NK about yesterdays posts. First he wants everyone to know that we can afford things and we are not living in poverty. (Especially the ladies in CA who I know irl, he mentioned you guys specifically) Then he said do you really want to go. I put on my most puppy dog face and said yes.

That was last night. This morning, he said, if you really want to go, then you go. But you have to bring Samar. I can handle the older 3 . We just need to figure out the logistics of everything. We’ll sell some shares and if you can get any money from whatever crazy selling you want to do, then we should be good. How freaking wonderful is this?

I cannot wait to talk to my mum and sisters and tell them this.

This is the plan

1. Make some money. Sell my stuff that I have from my craft fair. Shawls/Bags from Bangkok.Kurtis from India/Pakistan..

2. No unneccesary expenditure. No more salmon and king prawns. No eating out/shopping(even if its at a thrift store)

3.Lose more weight.

PS; Me likes to think it was hmm the awesome nocturnal activity that changed his mind :)

Multiple comments in the same day might seem like stalking but I came back because I remembered that we got a pretty good deal from a desi travel agency for our trip to India in Dec (via singapore no less), called sunnyvale travels (should show up in google). From previous posts I think you are somewhere in the bay area so check them out.
Glad things to see things are working out, if NK is anything like other Indian men the PS probably embarrassed the hell out him :)

Me: hehee I didnt him tell the last part :) Thanks will look up that travel agency

  2. Angie says:

I want to see the shawls and bags you’re selling! I’m so excited for you that you’re going to go. Yay!

  4. Silvara says:

    Oh that’s really great!!

Hahaha that’s a surefire way of getting guys to change their minds :P

  5. V says:

You should totally go,no matter what it takes!! What about paid surveys? Baby sitting should be a piece of cake for you? Google ads on the blog? Maybe catering, like making bento box lunches? Working part time someplace?

Me: 3 weeks ago, I did a focus group and got some $$.

  6. Miss M says:

  7. Violet says:

Awesome! I was feeling really sad for you since the last post, and was about to suggest that you just take the youngest along, but then I thought you would have already considered all the alternatives.. Hope you make it to your Sis’s wedding!

  8. Solilo says:

Now that’s good news. YAY! :)

“Me likes to think it was hmm the awesome nocturnal activity that changed his mind “

Ha..ha..ha..ha.. I fell off my couch laughing. You wicked girl!

  9. I am laughing out loud at the PS, but smart move S! ha ha ha. I am happy that something is working out, hope you get to India for the wedding, and all the best with the selling.:)

  10. Perakath says:

So is the plan for just you and Samar to travel for the wedding? Or the whole family? Or just you and the kids?

    Me:Just me and Samar.

    Is the wedding in Pune?

Me:Nope not Pune. Some town near Kolkatta. I havent decided where to fly to from Singapore. Delhi/Kolkatta?

Perhaps the earlier fussing was just a cunning plan on NK’s part to stimulate the said PS!

Me:Men who knows what they think

  11. Sue says:

Oh thats so sweet. Have a great trip dear. I can understand the joys both of you sisters should be having….

  12. soniarai says:

Really! U are coming!!! How is NK going to handle with transporting the kids to and fro from school and work? U told mom yet?

Me:Nope. Chatted with R and S. He will have to manage. He said he will figure something out.

  13. shilpadesh says:

Yay see there is a way!(nocturnal activity or not :D )

You should go……even if you have to skimp for a few months. Sell your ethnic stuff…that shit sells :-D

Aside – you looked amazing in that maxi dress.

  14. sakshi says:

Congrats…yeah you did it Seducer Woman in maxi :)

  15. Enchanted says:

I wanted to tell you on your last post that if i were in your place and my sister was getting married i would have gone. But stopped coz i didnt want you to feel bad if you had already decided not to go.

What do we earn for? So that we can have a better life, we get to enjoy our life with our family etc etc. And what if we are not able to do the very same thing.
5K sounds really big amount and it is not like we cannot afford it but it just sounds big. But the joy of being part of your family’s events is priceless.

Grt that you are going. I missed so many of close cousins’ weddings etc that i have decided no more.

Me:The last part of your sentence about the joy at being at a family event makes even spending all the money seem insignificant

    Oh and btw :
“Me likes to think it was hmm the awesome nocturnal activity that changed his mind”
Yep you are right.. That should be it.. works all the time with guys ;-)

  16. monikamanchanda says:

ROFL “Me likes to think it was hmm the awesome nocturnal activity that changed his mind “ very wicked ;-) me likes he he

    good for u

  17. Yay for you! I’m not surprise at the nocturnal activities given how you look in that maxi ;)

  18. CA says:

Thats cool …. now have fun planning for the trip!

  19. Other says:

Its great that NK agreed :) Now for your plan also Try http://www.etsy.com. I heard it sells a lot more crafty things than any other website. If you can create something, that will also be great.

Me: I know etsy. Its alot of hard work maintaining a store front. I tried when I was making the bags but couldnt sell anything. There is always someone who does it better and cheap. :)

Open up a store on etsy and start selling! You can also open up a website or something on how to lose weight since you seem to have so much success in it! and trust me EVERYONE wants to lose weight these days. (I know this cause i want to GAIN weight and people look at me like I’m an alien from the otuer world).

Me: You want to gain weight. Sigh, I am jealous. I only need to look at a food for it jump from the plate onto my thighs

  20. Anamika says:

I will have a planned night I think and then re-make some long standing demands. Cool idea buddy :D and good luck with those deals to India.

Me: rofl. let me know how it goes.

  21. Sands says:

few awards and a tag waiting at my blog. Check it out!!

    Me: YAY. Will do

  22. tearsndreams says:

Its great. Keep it this way. Always.
If I could go back and change one thing in my life, it would be to insist to my husband to come and read. Because now that he does, every time we have a fight “you even wrote this in ur blog” “why don’t u go and write in ur blog and tell the world abt the mean husband you have” “I know you will put up a distorted version of this so that you get all the sympathy” comes up!!!! And that when, I hardly ever say anything about him:-)
Thank God! he doesn’t read comments I make

Me: rofl. I am going to mail him this comment. :)

  23. Perakath says:

Me– I know what they think! And if you don’t mind low-cost airlines, flying Singapore-Madras on Tiger Airways is the cheapest way you’ll get to India. We paid USD 150 for return tickets. You can fly or train to Cal from Madras. And that way, you get to meet me too!

Me: You come to Delhi. I think it would be Delhi. My mom told me Malaysian Airlines is SGD380 or something.
