Weight Loss Update

I was debating doing this post. I haven’t really lost any lbs since my last update. I have been fluctuating a lot. 3 lbs up one week and 2 lbs down the next. I actually stopped going to my weekly TOPS weigh in since a) NK will go mad if I am away from the house 2 evenings in a row  and b) the weigh ins were driving me crazy. I would get depressed if I worked hard all week and stayed the same  or worse still gained. I told  myself to take a break until my  Tuesday classes are over.

I have changed some things in my workout, I took a lift class and really liked how the instructor made use 2.5-5 lbs weight but did many many reps and when you think you can’t lift one time, she made us squat and hold that pose. My muscles were burning. The next day, I was a bit sore..(I havent been sore in a long time).

I am getting really good at my speed skaters, I do them on alternate days to Aahun Aahun song and love it.

I took a 90 min Zumba class on Sat and actually managed to keep up and not drop dead. I did take a 30 min in the afternoon later that day because I was so tired …

My running has come to a complete stop. I have not brought the Nike + out since July-Aug I think. How horrible is that? I might sign up for a 5k with Anita in late Oct. That will get my butt moving.

I was trying to find the blue shirt I use in all my weight loss updates and I dont know where it is. (imagine the state of my closet.) Thus the special this month, my workout outfit..Starting a new one this month

Its a bit dark Opps

pantat- butt in Malay

pantat- butt in Malay

For the first time in my life since kids, my flabby tummy is actually not so flabby anymore. (It’s still there, the pants is holding it in really well) but the overhanging that was there from all the pregnancies, now it looks like I just had one baby. I am most proud of this achievement. Tummy flab is one of the hardest to reduce and I have come a long long way in that battle. Even NK noticed a difference and that says a lot.

My BLT has gone down the drain. I am not tracking my food anymore. I lasted 4 days. It was such a chore to write everything down. Not mention time consuming. Not enough hours in the day.

ps. ‘pantat’ is difinitely not butt in malay…its the vjj…:o)

Me: Oh a sip of beer/wine. I gain 3 lbs. Sigh…..Didnt understand the vjj?

Me: Hai na? I have been doing some crazy pilates stuff. I think its working. I was reading an article in Runnner’s World(because I like to pretend I am a runner) that this 43 yr old mom of 3(who runs marathon)does 500 crunches everyday before bed. *faints*

Oh my, you look awesome! Look at your tummy…wow!

My tummy is still like jelly-belly and I don’t even know if I’d be able to reduce it. I’m doing aerobics 4-5 times a week. Stretching/toning/firming a few times a week. And I try eating healthy. I’m losing weight, yes, but I gotta do something about my tummy. Could you perhaps suggest something? See, you might consider personal training ;)

Me: I have been doing the “plank” for a bit now. And something called the pilates hundred and another pilates like move an instructor showed me. It might or might not be effective but I have been doing them for 4-5 weeks now and noticing a difference. If you do a search for youtube, you will find videos.

Psst, isn’t pantat a bad word in Malay?

Me: Its butt right? Butt’s not bad :) There are worse words out there. Do you remember your Malay? I try to randomly throw words out to see whether I can recall the word in Malay. like the other day, i was thinking what is window in Malay and it took 20 mins and then aahh tinkgap. :)

  6. oh this fortnight my story is the same :( its the same as last update… wondering what is happening…

  9. shilpadesh says:

Bravo! Your tummy is flat flat now……and I am sure you will lose that last of the jiggle soon….imagine how far you have come S…wow! And you had 4 babies grow in that tummy? I cannot believe it…..

Me: No Shilpa, I hire a surrogate mom to birth them..rofl..

  10. Anamika says:

I love the colors of your outfit. I think there is something about getting nice workout clothes. You look good, feel good and pretend that the world is looking at you (I do this a lot) and then show off as if you are so effortlessly good looking and working out is such a piece of cake. Make ‘em jealous, yeah.

Me: It is. wearing ratty tshirts makes me want to hide behind the machine but with my nice outfits, I stride in front, and lift my weights, all the time, staring at my reflection. I am so vain now.

You do all that and more S and this workout outfit rocks. You are looking great and I am jealous about the tummy.

    Me: Thanks A!

  11. Anju says:

you look awesome. i am so lazy today, but after reading your post i am inspired to go to the gym. :-) ))
i joined the gym 3 months back and have lost only 5-6 pounds. i lost 4 in the first month and after that i am not losing much. i try to 40-50 mts elliptical 5 days and 2-3 days of weight training 30 mts. how was your loss when you started? i am tracking my calories now, i have been eating less than 1000 calories, so dont know whether that messed up my metabolism. so trying to eat 1300-1400 calories now.

    take care

Me: Do eat more, especially if you are working out. Have your clothes felt looser since you started? That was the thing for me. I started fitting in smaller sizes and most of my clothes were loose.

  12. Prashanti says:

After some srious weight loss, now I am stuck !!!! Going nowhere and not motivated to work out everyday !! suggest a nice n effective progrtam or something I can try out at the gym ~!!!!

Me: taking classes? Zumba, spinning, bootcamp class? Trying a new activity? Hiking? Cycling? Renting exercises dvds and doing them at home? Or a good yoga routine?

This is pic I think is the best youve ever been !!!! Go Go Go Sunita and I got your msg on FB, me no use FB. I dont even have any friends :( I am on Orkut though, are you on there will look you up.

Me: I was there until NK’s cousins started adding me and calling me maami, kaise ho app. Another one, bhabhiji, bache kaise hai. I deleted my a/c I think? I dont know..I never log on there.

  13. Era says:

Good job, keep moving. Just the other day I was telling a friend how my workout routine has come to a halt and I need to get it going again. Thanks for the inspiration.

  14. Getting sore is good, you are doing something different and different muscles are getting the work. Doing the same workout over and over again is not good.

Me: You know, when I first started working out with the trainer, I would be so so sore after each session. Sometimes, I would have to take Advil the next day just to function.

I started doing high rep workout too, to feel the burn ;p

And I updated the blog, thanks for the kick in the butt.

Me: I saw that in my feed. Will comment later.

  15. Lakshmi says:

I love your new work out outfit. And you look fit. I have had couple of years of journey on weight loss and my hardest thing to do is work out. So I feel so much respect for you for keeping at it :)

Me: Its a constant battle for me as well. I am at the stage now where I dont really have to drag myself and I feel great after the workout.

  16. Sands says:

Hats off to you girl for keeping up with it. My biggest problem is staying on an exercise schedule/regimen :(

Me: You have to find something that you like, maybe a 30 min walk after dinner?

  17. shuba says:

lol…pantat is the harsher version for our private part in malay. ie c*

Me: really! Hmm.. I was taught wrong.. Off to check with my friends Okay I just got the vjj ..slow today!!.

  18. Menaka D says:

Hahaha Sunita, you’re so cute! Window is actually tingkap;)
You know, when I’m on the phone with family or friends, I have to search for certain words in my brain before uttering. Applies to both Malay and Tamil. And I’ve been here for about 17 months only!!! That’s why I watch Tamil movies and listen to Tamil songs online everyday. I love my mother tongue.

I did find some clips in youtube. Will do the exercise from now on. Thanks or should I say terima kasih?:P

Me: You are welcome. I still say pantat is just butt and not a bad word. I asked my sisters and they said the same. Are you and Shuba confusing it with another P word.

  19. sraikh says:

    http://ckoh1965.blogspot.com/2008/01/sakit-pantat.html

It must be a Malaysian thing because Menaka is from Malaysia and she said the same. but I checked with my sisters and they confirmed its butt and I think we used another P word for the vjj…Maybe Singaporeans Malay is slightly different from Malaysian Malay..although it shouldnt be

I am waiting for my Malay friends to get back to me regarding this.

  20. “bhabhiji, bache kaise hai”

    ROFL! :)

For people trying to lose a size or 2, I’d recommend spinning. (cycling). It hurts like hell (I couldn’t walk or pee for 2 days) but the results show quickly.
