End of the weekend

Sometimes, I look foward to the coming week. Not this week. I am dreading it. My calendar is horribly full this week, from the girls’s doc’s appt to my dentist app to gymnastics class to photography class.Neil’s birthday is this Sat, cupcakes for his class for Friday. I just want to go to back to bed and wake up on Friday evening.

I took the older 3 out  and promised them that we’ll go riding if they pose for me.I wanted to practice what I learnt on Tues. I got some really excellent shots. Last week’s class covered Metering. So when using a DSLR, when you are in Manual mode, there is the light meter which looks like a number line. Your aim is to get it right in the middle.Side note, she had examples printed out for us to review. One of them was group pictures with the detail lost on this woman. She asked us to identify where should the cameraman chose to meter. The easy answer would have been the black woman. But no, we chose to say, the woman sitting down, the woman wearing a dress. I laughed out loud and said you guys are all so PC. She also talked about spot metering, center weight and partial metering. I remember center is what you want to use. Spot and partial gives you more control over the light.

This is flawed picture since Neil is blurry, I metered off Ashwina

Again flawed, because its a bit soft

Completely screwed up. I wanted the sun to reflect to hit the water, but the fountain is dark

your photography, NK taking your picture, the outfit, the smiles n expressions… the orange tank top is only adding points to it.. It wont be exaggeration if i say that you are getting better than before with each post :D

Me: Thanks tara. I think I am getting better and visualizing how each outfit is going to come together. I am so glad I started my daily outfit experiment.

me: Ohh I forgot to mention that. She did. She had so many tangles and would cry each time I combed her hair. Its so much easier now.

I’ve always liked your daily outfits, but I have to say you are getting much, much better putting things together as time goes on. I’ve been inspired. Though I still am too lazy to put on makeup or jewelry, I’ve been trying not to wear t-shirts with words on them or my gray sneakers.

Me: rofl at tshirt with words on them

  5. Prashanti says:

Every Monday, I get up with the same feeling of wanting to rewind or forward to Friday :) . I seriously contemplate calling in sick to work and just sleeping in the whole day :( The pics are real nice and looks like you are taking some serious photography lessons.

Me: Chalo Monday is half over..

Does the class have assignments and grading? The pictures look good despite the technicalities. And I think the orange top gives good color to this outfit. :)

Me: Assignments, she always tells us to go out and take more pictures and too apply what we learnt in class. The next few week, she will be bringing her studio lights and backdrops and we’ll take pictures of fruits/veggies/flowers.

I think I love this outfit the best of all the ones you’ve posted here. So casual and easy :) That orange tee you wore underneath – I thought it was the waistband or something….it adds great colour to the look as well. Really looking great here:)

  16. Krithiga says:

For an untrained eye like mine, all the photos look good!! Thanks for sharing the tips (but could not understand meter and stuff :-) )

  17. Shruti says:

hey ,nice outfit you look sooooo much younger in it…i think you should wear lighter colours than the usual darker shades that you normally wear….
the pictures are awesome…you have enlightened my lazy soul to take up the beginners course in Photography, i am an amateur and need to start from the basics SLR lingo and finally get out some good pics that the husband will be awed with.could you post your photographic experiences on the blog….like this one….on a regular basis?

and finally…. i am drooling over Neil’s picture in the yellow T. Super Pic……Aaaaw i sooo love him :)

  18. No…no…I just shut my trap for this very reason!
