Update/Daily Outfit

I made the previous post private. I dont want anyone from the girls’ school stumbling on it by accident. Seeing my daily narcissistic pictures is okay but not the witch hunt :)

I cried on and off throughout the day yesterday. When Nk was questioning my judgement about opening my mouth and bringing this upon myself in the first place, when I received an email from a blog friend, when I read a text from a concerned friend, when I was speaking to a friend on the phone and my voice cracked. At times, I dont even know wtf I was crying. By the time 7 p/m came, I had a raging headache. I realized I hadnt eaten much, which was dumb of me. I went for a walk in the cool evening air, had a cup of chai and then curled up to watch Grey’s and Private Practice with Vodka and Haldiram’s Katta Meetha. Even NK went to bed early, leaving me alone, which was nice because he always annoys me with his questions about whats happening in Greys. He expects me to tell him the whole  season’s plot in 2 mins.

Today, I am back stronger and bitchier. Another strongly worded email has been dispatched to the entire class and I told everyone I am done with the topic and am not open to discussion anymore. We can go on pretending to be caring members of the class is what i ended my email with. With all my feelings spewed and sent, I am now satisfied.

Healthwise, Ashwina thanked me for bringing her homework from school and sat down and finished 5 pages off. She also cannot wait to go back to school on Monday. Her fever hasnt returned since Tues and I dont recall her coughing today. Samar seems fine. He is on Day 2 of 10 day Tamiflu course  and I am not worried. Should he present H1N1 symptoms, I wouldnt panic. The middle 2 are currently throwing my sofa cushions so I am hardly worried about them. Me Myself, I look tired but then a little lipstick took care of it. NK thinks a leg cramp is a symptom of H1N1 and we’ll leave him alone.

Moving along, The  Orginal M(commenter) Its been a week and I am still maintaining the haircut. It was really curly and Annie like, when I washed it but then I flatironed it and it turned out like its supposed to be. This is this morning.I think I lost 3 lbs from my face through the stress of H1N1 and the class moms. Compare my face today and the picture below taken last Sat.

I wore my pig pendant.

I’m glad to hear Ashwina is doing better :) I was worried when I saw the post gone and wondered if there had been another scene with the paranoid Moms. Nk sounds a lot like my husband who wanted the doctor to test him for the flu for a case of the sniffles :D

Me: All men are the same.

  2. Shilpa says:

    Glad u are back! Hugs.

Me: thanks Shilpa No Midweek Masala this week on a different note.

  3. CA says:

Hey … your close up picture is so cool … you have a spotless skin !! Loved your minimal make up … you look lovely ! The other outfit, not so much my type … but hey you are carrying it off quite well !

Me: I dont have spotless skin. My webcam camera is magic :) Thanks for the compliments.

  4. athika says:

you look ten years younger in the first picture.. wow..andhappy to hear ashwina is doing better..tk cre

    Me: Thanks. A.

  5. M says:

woohoo! Your haircut looks great after a wash too – OK, most excellent haircut! :-D

And crying to lose weight…that’s a new one on me :-) But yes, you do look sleeker :-) I love the pig necklace – way to make a statement!

Me: I am going to patent it and sell it to the masses. cry and wash away the pounds. Sounds catchy right? I want the kids to be pigs and Ashwina to be the Big Bad Wolf for Halloween. They are not going for my idea. Myabe I will be Miss Piggy with wings?

  6. Sujatha says:

You look absolutely dashing in the sweater dress. You look thin… And your haircut looks much better than the other picture.

    Me: Thanks Sujatha.

  7. june says:

I really love your hair. And you are so pretty in your top photo. The bottom one, I love the dress but not so fond of the tights. =)

Me: Everyone hates those tights. :)

  8. soniarai says:

I like ur hair! U used the flat iron? Does it not cause ur hair to fall? It suits you though..WEll you cried it out and felt better, sometimes that’s the only way to get it out of the system..something I like doing :)

Me: Hmm I dont know whether it does. I use it on the low setting and every other day. Yeah the crying, do once in a while is okay. This crying was long over-due

  9. Shruti says:

You Rock Sraikh!!!! i hope to meet you once in my life :) chances of meeting in SG are more than the U.S

Me: Unless you get a job here? but next time I am there, for sure. In fact there are a bunch of bloggers I want to meet there.

  10. See! Those class mom’s are good for SOMETHING! I think you should tap into their paranoia. Cough into their faces when talking… etc, etc.

Me: rofl. I think they will run screaming.

  11. Violet says:

You look really pretty and youthful in the first picture, not a day over 20. I think that crying adds a saintly aura to the person by purging his innerself, but is still not worth it because of the additional baggage of terrible headaches.

Me: Awww I look 19 huh? I feel 90 on most days though. Thanks for the compliments.

  12. Suki says:

Welcome back to yourself, should we say?

    Hugs.

    Me: Thanks Suki. Hugs back.

  13. suma says:

i love the first pic ..and the second too…but not the tights! :)

you sound better…and i hope things fall back in place

i should have said this in the last post… but dont make friends in the school gate, sraikh. this was my mum’s advice to me — am just passing it on…
and w.o.w. about your skin — total glow
    quite the yummy mummy

Me: I dont know. Some of the my closest friends are the ones from Neil’s preschool last year. I met 2 really nice moms from Ava’s class. I dont know the kinder class has mostly moms with their first born in elementary school. So maybe that makes a difference.

  15. Lakshmi says:

Glad to hear that Ashwina is better. You look great. I met another mom whose 2 children supposedly had H1N1 last week and she looked similar, with a smaller face. I guess we take the toll when kids are sick.

Me: My weightloss plan above sounds promising then. hehehe

  16. Lady J says:

Had been busy last week… catching up on ur posts last week.. No surprise Ashwina is feeling better.. she has an amazing mom who is taking care of her.. but u take care of urself… i can really relate to all the crying spells that u had this week… sometimes people’s reactions hurt us more than they really should… But hey!!! chin up girl!!! u are much better than most…

Loved the webcam pic… and Looove ur hair cut… u really looking very good in ur outfit…

  17. Perakath says:

Can those who missed the previous post still get access to it somehow?

You look like your cousins in the first pic! (Not that I’ve ever met any of you :-)

  18. M says:

Oh as far as weightloss – get the swine flu – I lost 5 lbs with NO effort – Tamiflu was enough! :-D

  19. shobha says:

Hey :) I love the hair. You look wonderful. And whatever it was that passed, I am glad that you’re dealing with it and are better. More power to you, girl.

  20. Sands says:

Love the top. Looks real nice :) If a cuppa of chai doesn’t solve problems, vodka for sure does ;)

  21. Beau Lotus says:

You’re one very pretty girl, keep it up!

    Me: smiles at fellow Singaporean
