Day 2/ Daily Outfit/Update on Stuff

Day 2 went well. There were no pink tardy slips for the older kids. After my morning chai and breakfast,  I went to the gym, worked out, picked Neil up, played at playground, picked Avasha up, came home. A friend dropped Ashwina after GS. Chai and Chivda with her. (She thought Haldirams was too spicy ) Friend left at 3. Another friend and her  5 yr old came at 4.30, spoke with them. They left at 5.45.Homework(Ava had a report on George Bizet) Made aloo sabzi  for Samar and egg curry for the rest.Baked  banana bread with over-ripe bananas.  Baths, toothbrush, reading and everyone asleep by 8.30. Spoke to my dad and now am waiting for Nk to call.

Oh I also managed to get a babysitter for next Tuesday. It’s the girl who works at the gym’s daycare so all the kids already know her. I will have her come on Tues. I was really sad about missing the classes.

From my conversation with mil this morning. FIL is doing well. He is breathing on his own and is off the ventilator. He managed to keep down some food as well. Thank you all for your good and positive thoughts and prayers.

Diana wore her shawl in a very different way, a few days back and I was itching to try it. I have a lot of shawls. I like buying and looking at them. I seldom wear one now because of the fact I always had a child on my hip and b) it almost always annoys me  and gets into my way. But does it stop me from buying them. Uhmm No.

No make up

Although a very funky way of wearing a shawl, it’s not very baby friendly. Each time I had to keep adjusting the sides or push the belt down. Not to mention the fact, I was feeling quite cold in it. So I added a cardigan

See the scar on my foot. NK owes me so much this year

Shawl from Pakistan. It is really warm.

CK jeans a friend gave them to me but they are a bit too short however, the fitting is awesome. So I folded up the pants. Stylish yet practical

Gold Ballet Flats: Thrifted

Bangle: Ashwina won this at her class auction. So sweet right?

Necklace/Belt: thrifted

Coming up tomorrow: The difference in my neck/chins/side profile from 18 months ago to my current pic. In short, weightloss update

good going on day 2 as well! :)

    hugs

Me: I like the fit of those as well, only thing they are a bit too short.

  2. SS says:

Funky indeed :) Good to know your FIL is recovering. Take care.

  3. Tara says:

u look sweet with this hairstyle :)

  4. Poppy says:

You are a heck of an amazing woman. Not only are you taking care of 4 kids single handedly you are still doing teh rest of the stuff without missing a single beat.

Where are your feet? *Bowing Low*

Me: I have been crying alot. Does that help remove the superwoman image. When a friend asked at preschool, How are you. I launched into my story of how the boys were awake at 5 a/m and screaming for their daddy and I am exhausted. And that poor woman probably didnt expect all that from me.

  5. Diana says:

This looks great, and that’s a beautiful shawl. I love the vibrant colors! I found that I had to adjust my shawl a lot too.

  6. shilpadesh says:

Ahh glad to know that your FIL is doing better now. And needless to say, supermom you, you managed quite well.

I have quite a few shawls/stoles too and I just drape them on my shoulders with a simple tee and jeans. I will try this belted look, but it looks high maintenance.

  7. Dugi says:

Sadly, the shawl doesn’t look that good. Very Auntyji-esque.
    Sorry :(

Me: really? I thought it was so funky. anti aunty actually?

“Loud Applause” for S. In your busy schedule you found time to bake..Sigh if only I could multitask like you.:). Hope your FIL is doing better..Love the style of wearing the shawl but not only is it not baby friendly but its not even work friendly if you have to sit and work at a computer the whole day, i think it would get in my way. I dont even wear those big metallic watches to work coz it keeps hitting the keyboard and gets annoying when i type.

Me: I have noticed that too with the huge bangles I wear

  9. La Vida Loca says:

    Oh good to know!
    BIG hug

  10. Chuchu says:

Love the colours of the shawl and the fit of the jeans…think a narrower shawl will work this style better;but then it won’t keep you so warm.
Hang in there..you’re doing sooo good *hugs*

  11. shyam says:

You look STUNNING in the first pic! :)

  12. Hey just caught up with your posts. Hope things are better now…hugs girl. When it rains it indeed pours..Hats off really to you for juggling all of this.

I chose this post to comment on coz I really like this idea with the shawl…however for it to look more effective I think you should choose a thinner shawl that isnt this stiff..like Diana’s..I had followed that link and I think her’s works better because her shawl was more stole-like, if you know what I mean! I tried this out with a stole and it did look nice!!

Me: You know I did think of that. But it was kinda of chilly that day and I wanted something warm. I have a soft pink one that I will use one day and see whether it makes a difference.
