Day 16/Daily Outfit

Due to overwhelming response for daily outfits, this is my plan. When I have something interesting to blog about, I will write a post. Otherwise I will just post my daily outfit picture. Since I get dressed and get dressed well pretty much almost every day(do you guys love how modest I am) I will have a pic for sure.  See I am hesitant to do this because a)  I still think its narcissist of me to post pictures of myself every.single.day. and b) really who is interested in seeing what I wear. But nope people are very curious, I guess.

The babysitter came today and I went off to my class. Its was the last class. Next Tues, we’ll  be heading to the local train station and doing a night shoot. And then Nov 19, I will have my 1 hour private one on one printing lesson at the instructor’s house. I told her thats the only day I am available and all 4 kids are in school. And she found time for me to come on Thurs..woohoo.

Tomorrow is a school holiday. Both girls have Brownie troop events and will be gone till afternoon. The boys and I will head to the gym and Costco.

Friday, I am having the babysitter come again and I am going out drinking with my friends. I am also getting someone to pick me up so that I can actually drink. I have become such a light weight, that daaken suun kar char jati hai(Indian saying, smell the bottle cap and you get high). I have a fabulous new dress($4.99) that I bought on Sunday when I went to Ross with oldest child. The younger 3 were across the road at a party.

Here’s what I wore to class. A fellow classmate took this picture.

I dont know what to make of this outfit yet

What do you guys think of this outfit? I dont know whether it works or is  too  crazy to be even considered fashionable. Lets see, black dress, brown tights, brown boots, and light pink crazy wrap-cardi-shrug thing with gold jewellery. Hello Crazy Indian lady. And I dont know how to wear that cardi but I love how warm and cozy it is. So Yay or Nay?

Oh MY GOD, After claiming I dont have anything to blog, I go and write 2 posts in one day. I need to enroll myself in a 12 Step Programme.

Liked the Option #2. Option #1 did not work for me.

    But awesome steal!

Me: Me too. I also tried throwing both ends around my neck and that looked pretty as well.

  2. Roisin says:

i really think anything is “fashionable” if you love it, and can pull it off. which I think you did!

Me: Thats one way of looking at it. Wearing the most fashionable outfit and if you are fidegety, then the whole look sucks.

  3. M says:

Umm….love the outfit, but minus the cardigan-that-wants-to-be-a-shawl! Worn the second way is OK, but I still think you’d look better overall wearing a plain cardigan or a plain wrap – not a hybrid.

Me: I know, I actually had a really cool argyle cardigan that would have been perfect with this outfit but then I wanted to try this cardigan shawl thing since I was going sans kids.

I like the patterned tights – they look cool.

    M
Me: And they are really comfy as well.

  4. maddy says:

Worn the way in the 2nd pic looks good.

    Me: Thanks Maddy

  5. Prashanti says:

I liked the wrap better in option 2. The color is soo yummy.

Me: It is a really sweet pink color.

  6. couchpapaya says:

If u wear it with confidence you can pull it off, and you are doing it above. Maybe a belt over the first style? I love BCBG but have heart attacks over the prices when I go in to their outlet store ….. you are really changing my mind about this thrifting thing!! That fan necklace is as cute as I thought it would be!!

Me: I did think of the belt but it was just too akward. Its too thick to belt nicely. And it made me look stumpy. I think this is my first BCBG piece. I knew it was branded but didnt realize how $$ the outfits were. You know, it said dry-clean only and I dumped it in my bath tub with oxy clean and then wrung it and hung it out in my backyard. And then checked the price online :) I had a heart attack then. I really need to buy that dry cleaning kit for home.

  7. Oii! I didnt realize the shawl came with sleeves :)

I liked the 2nd option better too. Post a pic w/o the shawl. I think the black dress w/ brown boots will look good even w/o the shawl.

Me: Yeah it did but then it was cold. The Bay Area gets cold you know :)

  8. Bini says:

Yay ..for Option#2..! and Yay for Friday night:).I will have one drink on your behalf too:)

    Me: cheers

  9. AverageJane says:

Option 2 it is. Option 1 makes you look bulky when you are totally not. Glad you are able to make it to your classes and night-out.

    Me: I thought the same.

  10. anonymous says:

LOVE YOUR BLOG!!! But I did not like the shawl look. Your writing is so honest and witty!! Look forward to all your posts!

    Me: waves hello

  11. Durga says:

The 2nd looks is so yummy.
love the dress, tights, boots and the cardi-shawl thingo. You’ve done well with the colour combinations.I dont know how to wear the cardi-shawl either. The 2nd look makes the outfit look really lovely. well done. xox

    Me: Thanks Dugi

  12. Choxbox says:

    you rock lady!

  13. Poppy says:

I liked both options, second one is more sleek although first is fashionable too! Saw how the ladies had wrapped it across in the website and the prices holy cow!

  14. chuch says:

OMW…to option 2..it totally rocks!!i can just imagine how warm that shawl/cardi combo is and you so have the bargain~pick up fairy sitting on your fashionable shoulder!next look for some black knee high boots and the nk will come flying back, wedding or no wedding;))

  15. Neha says:

Hey, the shawl-cardi-whatchamacallit’s color is very nice, and I think it looks rather comfy and interesting in style 2. I can’t help wishing that it was a bit shorter, but overall something very different.. suits you.. and oh, I really envy you for being the owner of that necklace ;)

  16. Ok – I know I’d have a tough time maneouvering that shawl…I dont know how you ran around in it. Rest of your outfit so well put together, its inspiring!!

  17. binpin says:

    kinda sorta..revived my blog:)

    Me: YAY!

  18. Roisin says:

Sunita I have a bcbg poncho that also says dry clean only and Ive been washing it for about 4 years now and its fine :)

    Me: Ahh Good to know.
