Tank top:Target
Cardigan: Banana Republic. Thrifted(Is this considered argyle)
Pants: Gap worn here
Shoes: A friend gave them.
Necklace: Estate Sale Haul
I wanted to wear a skinny white belt over the cardigan ala Michelle Obama. It just didnt feel right to me though. This pants are loose on the waist for me and I need a belt to hold them up(They arent that loose but you kwim) Then when I added the white belt over, it felt too out-of-place. Oh well, next time I will think of something else.
That post I linked July, a mere 3.5 months ago and my dressing has come a long long way since then.(at least I think so). What do you guys think? Is it because I now have an enviable collection of thrifted stuff that I am able to throw together good outfits. Or the fact I have lost weight made me look better? Or the haircut? Or the confidence I ooze because of the weight loss and the haircut.Am I considered vain, when I look in the mirror and actually like what I see. I do also notice the jiggly belly and the flapping arms, but yet I actually like the reflection.

Love the black and gray combo..Love Argyle. It’s classic!!
P.S : Vanity isn’t all that bad
Besides, you do so much for your children and your husband, you deserve to be a little vain..don’t you think so?
Me: NK has called me a narcissistic more than once.
Can I say all of the above for reasons who look so better put together than before? I see it now……trying to dress up everyday definitely makes you think about what you wear, and improves your dress sense.
That is argyle….love argyle…it has a semi-feminine, semi-masculine look that I love.
Me: I have another one in biege that I am itching to wear as well.
I guess the confidence you have gained after loosing weight, changes a lot of your personality. I like the daily outfit update and am thinking of doing one too, just to change my dressing style and keep myself motivated to lose weight. I love Argyle…you go girl…
Me: oh oh ..will you do a the series. I told myself I will do it for a week and look at me now.. I am addicted.
No, it’s not vanity. It’s confidence. Vanity is when you look in the mirror and see what you like. Confidence is when you look in the mirror and like what you see. I love it! Great outfit, too.
Me: dude I like that quote, You’re one smart lady.
I really love this outfit, I think it looks great on you (but it’s also something I’d totally wear).
One of the things I think is wonderful about how hard you’ve worked, is that you’ve gained confidence in yourself AND you seem happier (present weeks with NK gone excepted
). No woman should ever be ashamed of being proud of what she sees in the mirror, unless that’s the sum total of her existence, and all she’s proud of about herself.
In fact, as a mother, it’s hugely important that you have confidence and pride in your appearance, so you can pass that on to your girls. Body issues are such an issue for women, that showing your daughters you can be healthy and happy and love who you are without looking like a magazine cover is something amazing! Being body confident is a gift, one you can pass on to your daughters.
Me: I constantly worry about this. That I am passing on my insecurities to them. That my pinching of the waist and refusing the chocolate ice-cream will affect them. I do know that they are both very happy with the way I am now, that I dress up and come pick them up. Especially the oldest one. She is apretty cool dresser herself and her fashion sense is something that always amazes me.
A combination of all that you have mentioned above..Looking in the mirror is not vanity and feeling good boosts u’r self confidence:) and most of all its your inner beauty is what reflects outside..Also your in great shape which reflects great health is all which is making you look Great:)
Me: such such nice words. Inner beauty or inner bitch
Way to go
I’m actually getting inspired to dress up every time I step out. More of a jeans and the first thing that is at reach types. I too have a lot of stuff which I buy and never wear!!!
Anyways I AM going back and DRESSING UP NOW!!!
Cheers! You rock!
Me:Ohh you need to do a daily outfit series. This is how I started and now am addicted. Do it for a week. Blur the foto if you dont want your face revealed or crop it to hide the face but do it.
I LOVE today’s outfit! You do look so nice – I look forward to seeing what outfit you wore each day, you have really inspired me to actually think about what I’m putting on each morning and to include at least earrings. Still haven’t found anything at thrift stores that fit me, and no estate sales yet.
Me: YAY another inspired person. And the sales, keep trying..you will the motherload sooner or later . Hopefully sooner.
love this!
Me: Thank you!
Loved the pink cardigan – Y’days….Really Pretty!
Hmm…sraikh, need to work some time on the hair. Looks like it’s on it’s way back to how it was ….r looks slightly thin – may be a volumizer and a good flat iron might do the trick?
Me: I didnt wash it for 4 days Tomorrow it would be fine. I washed and conditioned today
I use a product(rarely – for parties- forgot the name )….it makes the hair quite thick and looks good. If interested i can check and get back the name for yu.
Me: ohh will you? TIA
Btw, Forgot to add – liked today’s outfit – the cardigan especially.
As you said, the picture oozes confidence!! This is a great thing that you see yourself in the mirror and actually like what you see. It is something that can be said about very few women and so congratulations !!!!!!!
Me: It took me a long time to get here. Prior to this, I dont have any pictures of myself because I hated the way I look and would either NOT take pictures of hit delete as soon as I saw them. To be posting pictures everyday of myself… what a change hai na?
Ooooohh, I like this.. U look all french chic
I like pants on u, they make u look more tall and statesque..
I seriously am loving this everyday outfit thing.. I know I don comment on a daily basis but believe me I am here every morning like a junkie looking for a fix
Me: Aww thanks Dee.
This simple casual looks cool on ya girl! More than what is thrown in together, it’s your confidence that takes it to the next level
Loved the last few lines. Love the reflection ..
It took some time to digest that am growing bigger by the day, but now when the mind and heart has accepted, I love what my mirror shows me back too
Me: You are such a cute, adorable and hip preggo. You are glowing in all your pictures.
Hi Sunita,
I was a silent reader here..I voted you almost everyday in the contest..and i wanted to say that i loved your way of writing..it’s so honest..brutally honest..and that is what i like about it..
Rock on!
Subha
Me: Thanks for voting and delurking. Will check out your blog later.
This is what I would call Spiffy ..
You look like no-nonsense boss. I think your dressing has improved BECAUSE you have been paying more attention to it and that has made you more confident. The weight-loss has helped a great deal, but the haircut is just a happy accessory.
Me: I think so too.. I never ever paid attention to what I wore day in day out UNLESS it was a special occasion, a party, a wedding, a celebration.
hey, love this look too…tres chic and casual at the same time..i actually went back to the post you had linked and i must say a combination of all the things you’ve mentioned as well your self-confidence make you this yummy mummy!keep going..as someone,s already said,it’s become as addictive as that morning cuppa.
Me: Aww thanks for the kind words.
looking good.
What a sexy pose there girl! Like the outfit, the hair, the accessory..everything…
Me: Thanks.
I’d say it’s the confidence, girl! You’re looking so, so good! Btw, you’re tagged…
This looks really good. I was just thinking about how I’ve never seen a repeat of any of your outfits
You either have a great collection or you mix and match really really well. Thanks to your posts, I’ve started taking more interest in dressing up as well. That’s something that we owe to ourselves. If we think we are looking good, it really boosts up the confidence. On that note, I am going to get a new hairdo soon!
Deh I love this outfit!! Esp the cardigan..too cool..an outfit that i love to wear…nice!
perfect!! i LOVE this look totally!
and girl, you have every reason to be proud!! you rock!
hugs!
LOVE LOVE LOVEEEE IT!
yes u have come a long way – but very very quickly. I love the colours all go together and the cardi is so cute. You are fast becoming a style icon for hard working mothers/women everywhere. Gorgeous look for a fraction of the retail price! yeh!
Hi, Second time delurking. Just wanted to say I really admire how you can look after 4 kids, and still take the time out to get into shape and dress well. You’re doing a great job! Have read your earlier posts on how much you like leggings so I thought you might like this piece
