Its downright depressing to be without your spouse on your birthday. I knew I would be this way and thats why I booked our road trip. I dont want a cake or candles. But the kids want it so maybe I will. I dont want to be all la_la_its_my_birthday but the kids wouldnt want me to be sad so I would try to be happy. I am exhausted. I am. The constant running from Samar’s School to Kinder Dismissal to Ava’s Dismissal to getting bath-time/dinner/bedtime. After which, there is laundry and cleaning and random crap which seems non stop. And yet the house looks like a pig sty. My van is thrashed and the laundy never ends.
It sucks that he is going to go to the wedding and I am not. THERE. It sucks and I am sad and there’s nothing you can do to change the fact.

Its an all day affair with 5 families cooking from 10 am together..cutting, chopping, grilling n baking….and drinking in the day… reminds me of ranjikanth’s dance in Chaalbaaz singing” Aaj Sunday hai, DIN me daru peene ka day hai”!!

Happy birthday! The year I was pregnant with Brianna, I spent my birthday alone. Josh had moved and I was still finishing up working before I followed, so I was 8 months pregnant, with Braxton-Hicks that had landed me in the hospital once, and totally alone on my birthday. And we hadn’t lived there long enough to make friends so I was sad. So I can totally empathize! Let your kids cheer you up, don’t dwell on NK not being there (if he was there, it would be a lot like any other day anyway. Don’t lie

Me: you know. You are right. I went back into my archives to check what I did the previous years and one year, he gives me $32, all the cash he had in his wallet. We are not the sending roses kind (but if he wanted he could have done it online. ). I am glad I booked the hotel and we got away. I am writing a post on it as we “speak”.
