I know people ( Gud Di ), are curious about last night. Let’s just say 5 weeks of separation does wonders for one’s sexdrive marriage. The kids were so excited to go get Daddy from the airport. There is a video camera on the travellers leaving immigration as they walk out to arrival hall.We kept hoping the next one would be NK and Neil was screaming, that is not Daddy each time. Finally, he came out and the kids ran screaming Daddy Daddy!, and hugged him.
The ride back home was fast. No traffic. There is something very erotic romantic about holding hands and driving. It has always been Nk driving and if at all, I am in a good mood, then we might hold hands. Hardly ever do that though.
Reached home, more daddy daddy. Neil sat in his daddy’s lap for at least 5-6 mins, just hugging Daddy. Samar woke up this morning asking whether Daddy is here or has he gone back to India. The girls are loving the gifts he brought them. It sort of felt like the first few days of our marriage. When all we wanted to do was to be left alone and annoying relatives would keep visiting the inlaws house. This time, it was waiting for the kids to go to bed and they refused to do so. Same feeling, repeated 12 years later to the date. (side note:Tomorrow Dec 4th, we celebrate our 12th wedding anniv. Most peole get shocked when I say that. The next question out of the mouths is how old are you. 32 would be my answer and when they figure out I got married at 20, the 3rd question is(mostly Americans) was it like an arranged marriage. It always cracks me up when I say no, we met online back in 95 and we used Telnet to chat. end of side note)
Nk also brought back tons of stuff for me. Some good(a leather wallet, a black stole) and some better left unsaid(auntyji kurti which doesnt fit me. shorts??). ET sent me a nice little gift bag., scarves, necklaces and really nice sling bag. Thank you so much. I cannot wait to wear them in the next few weeks.
Aren’t airports the best for people watching. A young guy was nervously pacing up and down. He had a single red rose stalk with some baby’s breath and card. Was he waiting for his fiance? His online girlfriend? Or his Russian mail order bride? Who knows. Another older Chinese couple were talking in Mandarin on their cell phone. They were waiting for their son. How long has it been since he left? Why did he go to HongKong? It was fun looking at people and guessing their stories.

You, know..I absolutely relate to that feeling. I traveled abroad for a 6 months project once and then H had to be away for 2 months another time. Those days of ‘Judai’ is like the perfect ‘reset’ button that brings back the lurveeee in your marriage.
