Organizing crap

I saw this idea on a blog someplace. I dont remember that blog or else I would have totally linked it but she had pretty stuff on hers. She had candles, a jar filled with shells and cute soap. Mine needs to be functional. The bathroom doesnt have a vanity. We stuck a little plant table I had in between the wall and the sink.

Of course, I magically found this tiered stand at a thrift store. I think it was $1.99. It had no plates. The girls and I then walked over to where the saucers and plates were and tried on different plates to see which one suited the stand. Avasha wanted a stylish black plain ones and Ashwina wanted these. I liked the pretty flowers on them. 2 votes against 1, the flowery ones.

Functional yet pretty

Saucers:99 cents

 Metal Tier Stand Thing:$1.99

Having organized chaos in your bathroom:Priceless

For everything else, there are thrift stores!

Will someone please open one of these stores in my city?!

Me: rofl. You know how thrift stores operate right? Its donations from people. Things that people buy and dont want. The Americans and their crazy consumerism ways,

I would have never thought of using the tier for this purpose, pretty cool.

Lovely….and inspired by you I actually checked out my local Goodwill yesterday – but found nothing (I was looking at housewares/furniture/bags) – did see a new pair of boots – size 7 – very nice – for $20 – but don’t know any size 7s so didn’t buy :-)

BTW, I see Chandrika soap – is that for Samar? Medimix works well too.

oye…..you should apply for thrift store marketing position….
I am sure thrift stores sales volume has gone up in the last few months…
they should start giving you stuff for free.
cheezy tag lines are a plus!!!heheheh

Me: hehehe.. I am happy the few people that read this blog are venturing into thrift stores. Instead of thinking that it cheap, one has think its green. That we are saving the earth from extra packing crap. That the donations instead of filling the landfill are being re-use. That the money we spent at the thrift store will go back to helping programmes for the homeless or helping cancer research or the battered women.

What a great idea!! I agree, the best thing abt thrift stores is the sheer fun of hitting upon things u need when you dont know you do … I have a loveseat we picked up around 5 years ago, hubs and me were trolling the thrift store without any real purpose when we saw it being brought in – blue/red plaid, almost new and v. cute. It was love at first sight. I made him jump into the loading bay and ask abt buying it. Since it had just been donated, they had no idea what to price it so someone just priced it off the top of their head – i think it was $20. We even guarded it from the dock to the shop floor so that no one else could take it heh. Still love the couch, and it’s still in great shape!!

What a super stand you’ve found!! I love beautiful bathrooms, but I can’t get mine to look pretty. I can’t figure out what exactly to do to make it look pretty, so it stays functional.

And is that Chandrika soap I see!! :)

Me: Yup chandrika soap. I want to try it on Samar.
