If you can stand an honest opinion, then I think you were unnecessarily rude to her. She was not demeaning you, or insulting your parenting skills. She was only trying to help, though I would not have even bothered fearing exactly your same reaction. If I didn't want anyone's help, I would politely turn it down and say "thank you" and smile or turn away or something that will impart the same meaning as saying " mind your business". How would you have felt if the lady at the dentist the other day said something similar or infact the same "will you mind your business, I can buy shoes for my own child " when you offered to give her your son's shoes? yes, I know this is your blog and you write whatever you want and type whatever you want and delete my comment, which I think you will do anyway..but again..just to be clear.. I am NOT being rude.. I have nothing against you and infact like following your blog.. but this time, i'm just giving you my unbiased honest-reader-who-does-not-suck-up-to-please-blogger opinion. have a good day. If you took public transit in a place like the bay area where all sane people drive you'd meet even more crazies. It used to be my only means of commute and even now I take the bus often. The funniest was when an Indian guy (yup that's right) at the bus stop tried to evangelize. And I was only prepared for the usual Amway/Quikstar spiel not Jesus!
