The Valentine aisle in the Dollar store was EMPTY. In fact they had Easter stuff out already. I wandered over to the wedding aisle and saw these cute white boxes. 12 in a pack and for a dollar, thought not cheap but would work. Ashwina found the foam stickers and we were set. $28 later, I reached home and unpacked the supplies.
The boys decorated their boxes. Samar had 22 boxes and Neil 19. Neil wrote and addressed each box himself. The boys then help put the playdoh box in each box. Samar’s school requested we dont put candy and so no candy in his box. Neil’s boxes got a packet of Sweethearts.
The girls took care of their own Valentines. This is Ashwina’s Valentine. She is going to line the box with tissue and put curling ribbon on the handles. Each female classmate will aslo receive a beaded heart. It was fun family activity last night.
I was itching to put all the hearts the right away but I didn’t do it. Its from a 5 yr old boy and it should look like the 5 yr old made an effort and not his neurotic mom.

wow, the look so pretty! Must have be fun seeing the beautiful finished products!
Me:It was!
oh my, that’s lovely!
so what does happen on Vday in school? each child in the class exchanges a present/sweet?
Same sex as well? That’s pretty cool!
Pera, it took me awhile to get your question.
So yes, each child brings the same number of Valentines. So the kids will come home with 22 Valentines. No feelings hurt…everyone’s happy.
It stops at 5th grade. Come fall, when oldest child goes off to middle school..no more Valentines for entire class..
Cute! Liked each of their creations.
I bow to you, you superwoman. Saw your fb post too and FAINTED.
But I’m sure it must have been a lot of fun to spend this time with your kids.
Awww… super cute
:)
Too cute and I’m loving your NaBlo..whateva – love having a new post to read everyday
Wow, how did you do that? Nearly a hundred Valentines to make in all… :GASP:. And they actually look great!
Love the topsy-turvy hearts, btw. Correct is boring!
Its so nice that y’all do things together…and the brothers and sisters bond!!
Wow, Those are cutie cute.
Very Nice !! Good job kids …
And proud of you mom for not interfering while they were at it … thats the hardest part I tell you. Cantaloupe’s school has strictly instructed kids to not get any cards or gifts …. they will have a party tomorrow where the kids will do stuff in the class. Me being a room parent, I will be there to help out the kids …
Amazing stuff, I wish I had 22 valentines coming my way. Lucky kids!
Wow!! You guys are one talented, creative family! The boxes look adorable!
This is a cute tradition. It is nice that they do it in school – here there seems to be no festivities for Valentine’s day in school.
Had no idea about this – ‘give gifts to entire class’ thingy until a little girl in my neighborhood asked me to help her out.
And it IS fun, decorating and drawing and giggling along
Fantastic job by your chote rams!
The girls did get their creativity from their mom..me thinks.
Me: NK snorted when he read your “from your mom” wala bit. I said what you are creative? And he ignored me.
How adorable! I miss those days…. lol
Me: The baby is going to grow up soon enough
Hain??where did my comment go??Damn wi-fi!
I was saying..Greattttttt job!!I can’t wait for mine to grow up n go to school!!LOL!
