When will the end of Feb come?

I am running out of topics to write about.Wait, bullet point writing has always helped.

1. LOST sucked yesterday. I didnt like the episode one bit. SUCKED!

2. I can hear the church’s choir right now. It feels very soothing.

3. I made myself a Long Island Tea but no coke/cola.I used Lemon-Lime Soda. I didnt realize it had so many  different types of alcohol in it. Vodka, Tequila, Rum, Gin,Triple Sec..and a sour mix which I also didnt have and made it with lemon juice and sugar.

4. I worked out today. Go Me.

5. Is it wrong of me to tell my oldest child to leave me alone. She  is always stuck to me. Wanting to see what I am doing online. Or when friends are over, to hang out with the “mommies”, instead of the girls. I will tell her LEAVE ME ALONE.

6. The Long Island Tea is doing me in. Am ending it while I can type.

PS:NK read it and told me I have made many mistakes and clearly I am chaargayee…Pfft. I just edited whatever mistakes  I found.

ETA:The ad on the side is for a 28 day drug rehab programme. What does that say about my blog..

Oh! She is that age, when she wants to be all grown up, seeing what you do, wanting to be what you are. I can imagine it must be freakily boring and irritating at times.

Me: It is.. I try and not let it show too often. I scream at NK to answer them or take them out or something.

  2. kenny says:

hey that LIT Is potent stuff. but it sounds yummy, i will say.
its cute that you let him read over your shoulder like that, i would shut down immediately!

Me: He read it on his laptop. I hate it anyone reads over my shoulder. Especially oldest child.

  3. Dee says:

lol.. My mom used to chase me too.. My mother has a long plait which comes down to her waist. It was the same 20 years ago too *Dee’s having a burst of jealousy*

Anyway, as a child, I would follow her like a lil puppy hanging on to her plait.. There have been times she has shut herself in a room to eat or read a book in peace.. I was never allowed in d kitchen too..

No wonder I am a bad cook!!

Me: I let the girls cook for me all the time. Remember the bhajjias I made on Sunday. Ashwina chopped the zuchinni and onions for me. Avasha threw the onions in the pot for the chicken curry. I have had phone conversations in the bathroom with the door locked.I keep telling myself, a few more years and she would hate to hang out with me and I should enjoy while I can

It’s funny but when you mention your eldest daughter I’m reminded of my childhood. There is definitely something to this whole birth order thing. Were you the eldest one too? I think it also makes a difference if you had both brothers and sisters vs only siblings of one gender. I was the eldest and I remember always hanging out around the adults listening to their gossip when I was very young. They’d forget I was there and I overheard a lot of stuff I probably shouldn’t have :) Also identified with how she reads so much and is into crafts etc. I was also the one most interested in things my Mom was doing. I also think I needed my Mom’s approval the most, so just remember that possible aspect :)

Me: I am the oldest, but I dont think I hung around the adults. I had my own group of friends. The problem with my friends is that their kids are much younger than her. No one I am friends with irl has a middle schooler YET. I arrange playdates for the younger kids and she gets bored. I try and remember she is there and restrict my convo to acceptable things. Needing my approval, I think she does ..but then so does Avasha…they will come to me for their various projects versus going to Daddy(obviously since Mummy is much more talented than Daddy)

  5. Perakath says:

What time did you post this? ;)

Me: 3/4 of the drink was done, around 9ish pm? That is one potent drink. Never making it again. It knocked me out completely. I fell asleep on the sofa watching Private Practice and then dragged myself to bed.Bad bad drink!

  6. Trish says:

Awww..she reminds me of ME!!I was like that too..mom had to shoo me away! But funny..now,that Aadya is stuck to me 24 /7…I want to shoo her away!LOL!!

Me: Life comes a full circle.:)

  7. Prashanti says:

  8. couchpapaya says:

oops, cant get over the lost info. i have not watched it yet, but was intrigued after the premiere. i’ve noticed that whenever kate/ hurley/charlie stories are told, i find the episodes dull (hah now u know who i dont like), hope that’s the case here!!

Me: I like Hurley and Charlie. Kate, she annoys me at times. Come back after watching it.
And then we’ll talk about it
    .

  9. starry eyed says:

Ouch…need a stiff one myself! And my 8 year old is always hanging around adult conversations and snooping at my monitor too…and I used to do the same too…must be an elder daughter thing :)

Me: How do you deal with it?

  10. june says:

I am the oldest as well, and used to do that to my mom all the time. Always needed her approval, etc. I am still like that to this day. She’s probably glad I moved hundreds of miles away and now only see her every couple of months.

  11. Yeah the Kate episode was kinda boring. Will she decide between Sawyer and Jack already? Argh!!

LIT was my first “drink”. So I have a soft spot for it :)

  12. Monika says:

aaah Long island is my fav :D and good that u started ur workout again… i am off for a month atleast damn the neck

  13. Enchanted says:

ha.. as most of the ppl have already said i think this is her age to do such things. it reminded me of how i used to hang around when my granny and other neighbour aunties had conversations. Didnt cling to mom so much since she would go to work. But i always had an ear open for the adult conversations around me and even remember discussing it later with my friends and asking stuff that i didnt understand. Too shy to directly ask granny :(
