Monday MoneySavers

This week’s MM is going to be my favourite. I love this spot in my dining room. Almost everyone who walked into the house gives a gasp of surprise or delight(maybe horror) when they spy this corner.

Samar's breakfast, my blogging corner

The tablecloth, my mil gave it to me during my last trip to India. Its a heavy faux silk tablecloth that I use and throw in the washer/dryer and it comes out new again.

Doesnt this look like it come out of a magazine photoshoot?

See the light pink wine bottle in the middle, I am going to use it make a red sangria next time I have a party.

Everything you see is either from thrift store or estate sales

Nk bought me the double jigger and strainer yesterday. I dont really like  it because I dont think I would use them. I use a shot glass to measure my portions but it was $2.  The tray you know. The book was half off and I think it was a dollar. The recipes inside are meh but I like the cover. The stand I already had. The plant is growing. It came from a bouquet of flowers. And it started sprouting new leaves.

Another look

NK bought, the  flamingo stirrers, 5 stirrers for $4. I found the fishes for 99cents at Savers. The olives spears were 25cents each at another estate sale. The alcohol in the decanter is tequila,in case you were wondering Pera.. Here are some of the drinks I have made in the past 2 months.

Tequila Sunrise

A Tom Collins

Gin Sidecar

Long Island Tea, with no cola.

Screwdriver

I love the barcart! I’m so thirsty now!

If you add some chambord (raspberry liquor – also a pretty bottle) to your collection along with some pineapple juice and your vodka…you’ll make a lovely french martini and I’ll be right OVER!

  12. Smitha says:

wow! That was beaitiful! The bar cart does look like something out of a magazine :)

And the drinks look good enough to die for!

  15. Mom Gone Mad says:

  16. Chooch says:

    *GASP*…lurve it!can imagine sitting around the table sipping on a virgin mojito…sounds like a perfect hot summer’s day drink.;

Me: I love it during the hot summer nights,

  17. couchpapaya says:

Oh, it’s absolutely beautiful … very vintage looking!! What are the horse things on there?? Adorable!! Was laughing at the jigger bit, men and their toys!! We had pretty much the same argument and the jigger moved in when I wasnt there to supervise the shopping. And a muddler. I used my mortar-pestle thingie earlier and it did the job perfectly … sigh. If you like gin-based drinks, my absolute favorite is the corpse reviver. Tried it??

Me: The horse head is the jigger and the strainer thing. I havent even heard of a muddler. I just crush my mint leaves. I havent heard of corpse reviver but would would google the recipe later tonight.
