Remember the church sale I hinted at in the last post. That sale was held Thurs-Friday. 8 am to 11am. Which is perfect for me right since I have Thursday free. But I didnt have much cash with me. I had paid $5 to each child’s teacher for Teacher appreciation week and paid for something else in cash.[note to self, save all cash for sales] I had maybe $4 total in my purse.
Nevertheless I headed to the church. OH MY GOD. the prices were so cheap. Starting at dimes and nickels and going to $3 at the most. They had a separate antique and “better stuff” hall which had a long line. I didnt have time to queue for that so I passed on that.
The linen was $1 for all. I looked around some more but it was really crowded and I had to leave to run errands for Ashwina’s party.Regretfully, I left.
Later on in the afternoon, I decided to hold the scavanger hunt and realized I needed baskets. I made up my mind to back to church sale on Friday again. This time I had about $20(which I raided from Ashwina’s money bank). Samar was with me and I was hoping he would let me browse in peace.
I am glad I went back. I came back with even more astounding things. First the basket, I spent $2 and got about 10 different baskets for the party.
Then I bribed Samar and went into the toy’s hall. He picked out a ladybug umbrella, 2-3 wooden puzzles, some dinosaur painting book and I got this for my niece. I paid about $4 at the toy hall.
Then I saw this. She was filthy..But I knew she would be perfect for holding all the fabric I have been accumulating. I just soaked the cover in Oxiclean and scrubbed out the stain. Came out new. Even NK was surprised that it looked so new just by washing.
I paid $2.
We walked around some more. I saw this sad looking bamboo table/bar cart thing. It needed a new glass table top. I loved the designs and was debating what to do. I asked someone how much it was and she said $3. Seriously for $3, I could bring her home and think about what to do with it. For now, its holding court in the corner of my living room
I think I spent less than $10 on both days. I can live with that
I am joining Selena’s party and Rhonda’s party. Head over to their blogs to see what treasure other bloggers have found over the weekend.

What great prices! I went to a church yard sale last week, but the prices were too high for me.
I LOVE the old linen calendars! What a find! Will you decorate your kitchen with them, or use them for something else?
Me: I dont know what will I do. The 1970 dates corresponds with this year so I can hang it in the kitchen…However I am hoping to sew something cool with them.
I especially love the lidded glass jars. We used to keep cotton balls and q-tips in them when I was little!
Me: people pay insane amounts of money for the apothecary jars. I am debating whether I want to sell them or keep.
I love your finds. That cart is great!
I recently found a cart and it got a makeover. Post coming soon!
Me: ohhh I cant wait
Love the apothecary jars! Great price on those.
I have been looking for something like the storage bins for so long now.. Your’s is perfect
