I didnt go out thrifting on Sat. Sunday morning was spent lazing around as well. Sunday noon, I posted an email on my mom’s club saying I was in search of old pillowcases. One of the mums responded with “there is tag sale going on and they had some pillowcases there” I decided to take the girls and headed out.
I didnt find any pillowcases but the girls found books.
The alphabet thing is a kit to make birthday cards. There is original price sticker on it for $14.99. We paid $2. The Dr pepper holder/caddy, I will use it hold sewing/craft supplies and when we have parties, we can use it for cutlery and napkins.ETA.. Ashwina was sorting through the books when she saw this 7-8 yr old girl looking for books. Ashwina then helped her choose what books to get. One of them, was the Tale of Emily Windsnap(I read this and loved it as well) I forgot to say how much we paid for the books. They were 4 for $1. The Charlie Bone was $1 each. The snack attack is for Neil who is just begining to read. Its a collection of short phonetic books. Samar got a dinosaur book which isnt pictured.
Then I went to a thrift store near the tag sale and found these
I am linking to Southern Hospitality and Apron Thrift Girl’s party. Check out some of the other blogger’s weekend finds.

I think one of the biggest joys of thrifting is to buy books for next to nothing. In fact I’m so accustomed to thrift prices that I didn’t realize that some paperback books now are selling for $14.99. When did that happen? Is the Dr. Pepper caddy vintage or modern? It is very cool and will be perfect for craft supplies.
Me: I know right. I dont know about the caddy, I emailed you a picture.
Some amazing (cheap and good) finds as usual. It looks like what you are looking for you usually find it; and what you are not looking for, you find it anyway
Me:Its because of the crazy rich Bay area people. They just give away stuff or the older people die. Chose 1!
Nice finds! I love the books! I was on the prowl for pillowcases but many thrift stores were trying to sell them for an audacious $1.00 each. I’ll be on the yard-sale-prowl for some.
Ok next time I want something..u have to dream of buying it and then maybe I’ll actually find it in a thrift store!
Me: rofl..Sure. Hows the house thing?
